  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

cp-e™ Blitzing the Genesis Coupe: Full lineup in the Works

Custom Performance Engineering here! Over from Maryland - just outside the District of Columbia.

We are no strangers to turbo cars and this looks like it will be THE turbo car of the year. We got ours in this past wednesday, the 25th, and just as AMS is doing - we are tearing through it to unleash the beast within.

We have a 2.0T black coupe with the track package - and the quality so far seems great out of the box its a handful already.

Over the weekend I put the car back together and took it AutoCrossing over at a SCCA event. (we took it apart the day we got it)

On the road the car is very smooth, quiet and very comfortable. The creature comforts are nice and overall is well designed in terms of quality and athetics.

On the track and out of the box its pretty darn good.

The handling on this car I would dare say - amazing. The suspension geometry is similar to that of the 135i that we have - which explains alot. The big brakes stop on a dime and the stock tires are pretty grippy. The LSD in the back helps keep the power on the ground. Its a little heavy compared to the cars in its class (RX-8s and 350Zs).. Although I think its true class is in STU

The engine in stock form is quite nice but a little tamed in my opinion. Acceleration is no problem but on a smaller autocross course you need response and power down low. Throttle response is a bit slow even with Traction control off - thats something perhaps we can fix with our StandBack Piggyback system (EMS) and when we explore flashing the ECU in general. There seem to be a fair amount of bottle necks in the piping in the intake side and exhaust so opening that up will be a priority. And then on to other goodies like manifolds and turbo upgrades.

Next up: our plan!

We are already waist deep and only going deeper into the car and development of upgrades for it.

A little about us: We are fairly small but very experienced and well outfitted shop out in Maryland just outside DC.
We design, prototype AND manufacture virtually everything in house and in the US. We use digital FARO digitizing arms for developing precision upgrades with stock like fitment. Everything is designed in CAD and then we mill/bend on our in house CNC mills and CNC benders. Robotic plasma cutting and robotic MIG welders are in house as well. Our 3D printer is at work around the clock making our prototype parts. We use high grade, US made stainless steel and aluminum for longevity and quality. Everything is mostly precision tig welded for a durable bond and quality.

Oh and did I mention a Lifetime Gurantee

We have an AWD-500 Mustang Dyno - its brand new and already has 1000 miles on it. I will be throwing the Genesis Coupe up for a baseline this week.
The dyno is a great tool to have for making well performing parts - and most of the miles on the Genesis will probably be on the dyno.

The electronics department is incredible - we have an amazing and very capable Piggyback system - Standback2. The product was completely done in house from initial design to robotically assembling the units. This was a huge project and its ever evolving into a more powerful system.
We have great success runing the systems on Mazdaspeed3/6 vehicles as well as 335i and 135i N54 BMWs (twin turbo inline 6). I cannot wait to get this on the Genesis Coupe and see what we can do with some tuning and see if there are any gains to be had just out of a stock car.

The Standback is very powerful. 30x30 Tables for fueling and timing contol. We have a standalone boost controller onboard that allows you to completely take over boost control from the ECU. A "no-lift-shifting" feature is also included which cuts ignition for the user to be able to shift quicker. Datalogging is one of the more important features as you can log your cars performance and make changes on the fly if needed to dial in the engine.
The Standback also has external add-ons like a meth control unit that we designed and analog input cards for datalogging additional devices/sensors.

in Two Months:or so - we plan to release:
- Intake (CAI/SRI)
- Turbo Inlet
- Intercooler upgrade
- Intercooler Piping

. Downpipes
. Testpipes
. Catback exhaust (quad and custom designed "stock look" tips)

*Engine/Trans Mounts

~Stanback2 EMS
~maybe even a plug and play harness too.

>GaugePod (stock like fitment, injection molded plastic)

Short Term:
- TowPlate (tow hook mounted licence plate mount)

A few months away:
- Manifolds
- Turbo Upgrades
- Full line of suspension upgrades.

---------

I'll do my best to keep with updates and such. Feel free to ask any questions you have and I am open to suggestions on products.

If anyone is in the area - please feel free to stop by - Ill be happy to show you around the shop.

wow this car is getting attention like crazy. i want one now!!! good luck and keep us updated on your plans please and results. thank you

I can vouch for CP-E.... I got some stuff from them for my Mazdaspeed 6 and they're quality is top notch!

Let's us know if you're considering some mods for the Genesis sedan too. That would be an opportunity for those of us who are into modding our luxury sport babies :D

Should definitely be exciting to see what you guys come up with. Between you guys and AMS I think this Coupe is going to be a beast.

Oh yeah! Working hard on it.. good stuff coming.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I will be buying one of these cars after the first year (problems) are worked out. I would like to see how much hp the bottom end of this motor can handle. I would like to here the same about the driveline also. Im really excited to see that companies are on the bad waggon with this car. keep up the good work. i will be watching this thread.:)
