If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Dealership crashed another car into my car

"Why would they bring it to another body repair shop if they told me they will bring my car to Assured Auto in the first place?"

The other body shop probably told the dealer that they could "kinda" fix it for a lot less money.
Ask your dealer why this happened. Also let them know that you will have the car totally inspected by another body shop after you receive the car.
Take a drive to the other body shop and ask them what they plan to do to fix the car.
.

The other body shop is really far away from me. I would have to drive for about 1.5 hours to get there.

I just hope everything gets repaired to OEM standards. I'm so fed up with all the trouble. It's been bothering me so much that I get distracted at work thinking about my car...

I'll definitely take it to a collision center at a Hyundai Dealership to get it checked out after.

"I'll definitely take it to a collision center at a Hyundai Dealership to get it checked out after.

That's the only way to know for sure. (even if you have to pay them to look at it)

I can't believe they just tried to push metal back into place and tried to pretend nothing really happened...

Things could be far worse than this. My dads 07' 350z was practically totaled by a DHL delivery van while parked at the dealership. Looked like the van had driven straight through the back half of the car. Believe the damage was around 8-9k. Dealership parked it after performing service and said it was my dads fault that it got hit refusing to pay for the damages. WTF!? DHL wouldn't claim fault either. Long story short he filed a lawsuit and it took over 2 months to get it fixed.

Hope everything works out for you man. I'd definitely get it inspected afterwards.

Thanks guys. I'm going to meet the service manager to express my disappointment that his team tried to "patch" the damage on my car prior to me seeing it the first time. It's my car and I want to see what type of damage was done to it. Sigh. I really like this car. I hope it won't drive any different.

On a side note, they only gave me one key when I bought this car. They said if I want the other key, I have to pay for it. When I first went to test drive this car, they said it comes with two keys. Maybe I can get a discount for the second key now, lol.

You need to meet with the owner of the dealership and give him a letter that names the one responsible for the damages and attempted cover-up. If you get no satisfaction then call your local tv station's investigative reporter. My wife has called stations in Atlanta twice and was featured on tv with the problems solved. The threat of bad PR is very effective.

Hi everybody. Here is an update:

I called the body shop and they said "the cause of the paint peeling on your driver's door is due to a poor repaint. Your car has been repainted by the previous owner".

The dealership told me their detailing team found no traces of a repaint on this vehicle. I have proof that they said that. I emailed the client care team and General Manager of the dealership, notifying them that their dealership told me incorrect information.

I'll give you guys an update when I hear back from them.

Update: No reply from the dealership. OMVIC told me to if the dealership doesn't respond in 5-7 days, they'll get involved. I asked the body shop to confirm the repaint, and the guy's voice suddenly started shaking and he said he isn't sure anymore. Sounds like something scared him and made him change his word...

What is OMVIC? = As the regulator of motor vehicle sales in Ontario, OMVIC's mandate is to maintain a fair and informed marketplace by protecting the rights of consumers, enhancing industry professionalism and ensuring fair, honest and open competition for registered motor vehicle dealers

Update: The Sales Manager called me and started yelling at me saying "STOP TRYING TO MAKE ME ADMIT THE FACT THAT MY DETAILING TEAM MADE A MISTAKE. WE LOOKED AT THE CAR PROOF AND IT WAS CLEAN. WE DID OUR DUE DILIGENCE. ALL SALES ARE FINAL".

then he said

"Look bro, you're a smart guy. Life is hard. I have a mortgage and a wife. I can't even afford this car. The car is yours. Just try to enjoy it."

You need to get a TV station involved and talk to the owner. This dealer needs to get a lesson in customer service. If I were the owner of the dealership and found out an employee said the above to a customer, the employee would be fired at that moment and his personal stuff delivered to him at home. I have fired people for much less.

OhSeoBang,
I hate saying this but I think you really screwed up.
Someone crashed into your car.
It doesn't matter who he/she works for, even if it is the dealership.
You should of immediately got information about the driver of the other car and called his/her insurance company and made a claim.
You then should of gotten a couple of estimates of the damage and sent it to the other driver's insurance company.
They will send send you their estimate of your claim.

If you like what they sent you, then bring the car to get fixed at the body shop of your chosing.
If you don't like their estimate of your claim, tell them that.
If they won't modify their estimate and you are unhappy with it, tell them you will call your insurance company to handle the claim.
If they still won't budge, call your insurance company, tell them everything and make a claim.

Your insurance company will go after the driver and get you a good claim value.
If the other driver was responsible for the accident and they get a claim for you, your insurance will not be affected.

Whatever you do, you shouldn't talk to the dealership about the accident.
They want to help their employees and not you. You are just another customer, the employee is family.

If it is not too late, please try to do what I have suggested above.
Trusting the dealership will bring you nothing but misery.

+1
....

That dealership is full scumbags and should be treated as such. Def. get insurance, local TV involved. If you have a one-way consent law for recording conversations where you are, take advantage of that too.

If the original OP had followed some of the advice given on the first two pages of this thread then stuff we are reading about now would not have taken place.

Hi everybody,

Yes I screwed up. I just thought I could let the dealership handle it and that I could trust them. Crap. I have so much going on from work that I thought it would be easier to have them handle it. They already fixed my vehicle...they just sounded so convincing and....crap I screwed up.

I'll let you guys know of the outcome...

I will also look up the investigative reporters at my local news station.

OhSeBang,
Do not worry yourself over this.
Take it as a learning experience.

Has the car been returned to you?
Are you happy with how the car now looks and runs?
If it looks good, runs fine and perhaps you had a body shop take a look at it and they found no problems, then count your blessings.

If you are not happy, then you should tell the dealership you appreciate what they did but it is not good enough and you are going to make a claim against the other driver.

If they value that employee they will offer to do whatever they can to please you.
If that happens, tell them you want it repaired at a body shop you choose according to the body shop's estimate (tell them it should be low if the repairs the dealership made were good).
If they will not do that, then thank them and ask to speak to the driver of the other car so you can get his/her insurance information.
Once you have that information, call his/her insurance company and initiate a claim.

"Bro"??!! I'd be talking to the owner of the dealership, and asking him where his Sales Manager is going to find a new job!!!

yeah, since when has having a wife and kids license to be a skrud? good luck ....

Hi Guys. Here is an update:

I spoke to OMVIC and Hyundai Canada. I have text message confirmation from my salesman that says, and I quote, "my detailing guys said there was no repaint done and carproof was clean.". This was after I sent him the picture of my paint peeling.

OMVIC suggested that I submit all evidence to them and they will investigate. Hyundai Canada said they'll try to get the general manager of the dealership to give me a call. I really doubt that will happen. I've already been waiting to speak to the General Manager since 2 weeks ago. I'm getting the run around here...

Also, I gave the car a cleaning and went to a body shop for inspection. They told me 3 of my panels don't match in color. Now that I look at it, I see the left two doors have a yellow tint to them (the paint not the windows). Same with the panel they damaged and repaired. I told the body shop the invoice I received from the dealership says the repair was $250 per panel repainted. They said that is WAY too cheap. Also, the body shop took a look at the repairs and said the paint will peel again since the repair was done poorly.

When I went to pick up the car after they damaged it, I asked my salesman how much they'll give me if I sell my car back to them. Apparently, I already lost $8000 in 1.5 months..on a pre-owned vehicle....lol...Not to mention they told me I would get 2 keys with my purchase but when I went to pick up the car for the first time back in mid-November last year, my salesman was like "sorry only 1 key. I'm shocked too".

This is a rough start to the new year.

When the salesman said sorry only one key, you should have said "sorry no deal then". Why wait two weeks to see the General manager. Just go in the Gen. manager's office and sit down. Sometimes you have to be assertive.
