  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Do you prefer the 2015+ Genesis over the previous generation?

I am just glad I can be a regular member....

Being a moderator or Admin can get old as I learned on some other forums.

That being said thanks for everything you guys do to keep the site going!

No love for G1 guys in the G2 forum :(.

Thats okay because I read every post posted every day...even in the Equus section ;)
I don't dislike the G1 guys, I just don't care for their car. The difference is that I don't go to the G1 forum and post that 😀

Bingo.
I'm a car person and even read forums for cars I don't own or havent ever owned. I saw the "hidden" slights and jumped right on in to the fun.

Never mistake me for a person with emotion, unless the topic is animals. :)

Touche! I'm just here for the LOL's :)

Also, you are all welcome. I love this forum and every subforum has a special place in my heart :grouphug:

Nah man I honestly loved my G1, so I'm not hating on the G1 or its owners. I'm also not really into auto-fratricide :-).

The most important point that hasn't been made thus far in this discussion is...

(wait for it)

White is the fastest color!
:D

It's always black. The absence of color is weight reduction.

I simply don't understand the comparison with the Fusion. The Fusion more closely resembles as Aston on the exterior than the Fusion and Genesis resemble one another. If there is a car the Genesis emulates, it is the Audi A7 with the body lines, the longer hood and short trunk, the trunk line, and the grill shape on the front of the car.

From the front, I'll agree with the comparison to the Audi. It's largely from the rear that the resemblance to the Fusion is warranted. At least part of what I don't like about the interior is the dash seems to me to intrude into the cabin much more with the G2 than the G1. And the rear seating area seems tighter to me also.

I know some people on here who have had back problems found the new seats able to adjust to their comfort much better than the G1 seats. I've never had that problem. Having had sit in both, I'm not saying the G1 seats are better, I'm just saying they both work very well for me, and I find them both very comfortable. I have no problem sitting all day long in the seats in my G1 tech.

And in my opinion, the opinions of those who disagree with me are wrong! (Just poking fun at the moderator.. ;-) )

I wonder if it has to do with cross-brand styling...hmmmm..

Meanwhile, on dealer lots...

Well, they are always bragging about this "fluidic styling". I guess this is where that springs from! :-)

Say, don't Gen 2 cars come with those run flat tires? That is certainly an advance over Gen 1. Also, they look similar to the current Sonata. Now that's a step forward.

NO they don't .... I speak from experience :)

At the end of the day everything boils down to personal preference. There are many people that got turned off by the exterior styling of G2, but again every opinion is based on personal preference.
I know this guy driving a Lexus LS 400 for as long I can remember. When the new Ls460 came out in 2009 he told me he would never get that car because he does not agree with the new body style which he thinks is utterly ugly.
Today he still believes LS400 is the most beautiful car out there in and out.
Well....you get my point:)

many people like living in the past...;)

The past is amazing, when done right. Newer is not always better, as we've demonstrated. ;)
sure, keep telling yourself that and it maybe it will be true someday :) ... Actual G2 owners know better... opinions on styling aside, it's the minority of apparently insecure G1 owners that don't want to admit that the G2 is a better car in almost every other non-subjective aspect.... To each his own: enjoy your G1 - it's not obsolete because there is a G2...

You sound like an Apple user. "Oooh, shiny!"

Nearly EVERY argument is subjective in this thread, apart from the V6 being slow.

The only insecurity is by people that cowered in a corner to discuss how the "big mean G1 people are laughing at us" in whispered tones.

I think it is amazingly funny.

How can one enjoy the present while always living in the past....;)

actually, what's funny is the G1 guy coming to the G2 forum to defend his G1.... G2 owners don't care about the G1 - it's irrelevant...

I like my G2 - that's why I bought it. I don't care what anyone else thinks about it and I could care less that you think it's slow as its work fine for my needs - but unless you live under a rock, the overwhelming consensus of the automotive press agrees that the G2 is a MUCH improved and more refined vehicle - sorry if that is too much for you to handle. The G3 will likely be much improved over the G2 - that's progress and I won't be offended when it happens...

BTW - I am not a fan of Apple products - I actually dislike them.
