  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2009 Genesis sedan. Changed out battery in the key fob.

No problem unlocking with remote or start up. Problem is as follows:

I cannot unlock doors by pushing the button on the door handle. I can lock and unlock from inside but cannot enter unless I use remote.

Manual was of no help. I tried the setting section in the DIS but no help either.

Any idea as to how I "reset" the lock/unlock button ?

Thanks

Can you lock the doors using the door handle and can you unlock the trunk with the trunk button?

Trunk not a problem. I can use remote, switch on driver door or button located under edge of trunk on right side.

I cannot get the door handle to lock or unlock from the outside. The inside control is fine.

I suppose I could live with it but curious if it is a defect or a simple reset issue?

If defect covered by warranty? I did find a short thread related to bad door lock but not much help and certainly no fix was suggested.

I'll venture to say that if the passenger door button locks/unlocks the car, then you have a bad driver's door button. I suppose you could force a complete reboot by disconnecting the battery for a time to ensure it's not something really odd, but switches do go bad and all the more when used very frequently.

did you find a solution to the button not unlocking/locking?
