  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just took delivery of a V6 w/Tech Pkg and love the car. A minor annoyance is that I prefer to push the seat all the way back while driving, so I don't have to bend my knees too much, but the factory set limit on how far back the driver's seat goes is not enough for me. I wish there was a way to adjust the driver's seat so it would push back a couple of inches. I like to sit high, and have raised the driver's seat as much as possible. I know that lowering the seat adds a little bit of leg room. Does anyone know if this is possible? Are there any seat spacers that could be removed so the driver's seat pushes back a couple inches for some added leg room without compromising seat height? If no spacers can be removed, is an after market mod possible?

Seems like this should have been a pre-purchase revelation.

Like I said, I love the car, and this is a minor annoyance and not a deal breaker. I knew about this before the purchase, and am looking to iron out this one last wrinkle.

I'm just curious, how tall are you?

Or, are you just using a Genny for "cruisin the hood"?

Unfortunately the Genesis suffers the same fate as most Asian cars in that their ergonomy is made for models a few inches shorter than the North American average. I too find that I could use a little more leg room even though I'm only 5'11" (heavy build though).

I have short legs and a long torso, so head room is a problem. I had to get the base model because there is not enough headroom for me with a sunroof, but I have plenty of leg room.

I am 5'10", average build at 173 lbs. In the winter, I sometimes wear dr.martens shoes which have thick soles, hence the need for a couple of inches extra legroom for increased driving comfort.

Our suburban home is in quite a boring neighborhood (by choice), so I don't really feel a need to be "cruisin the hood" :)
