drivers side door handle not working

i've done some research and it appears my issue is not uncommon

My drivers side door handle is not responding anymore. At first it was acting erraticly but now the button simply does not function anymore so I'm using the keyfob.

I have a 2009 model that I plan on keeping a few more years.

What are my best options to fix this issue?

Just taking a shot in the dark here, but have you thought about taking it to a dealer? Just sayin'...

I think getting the button replaced at the dealer is option one. Option two is purchase the new part then have a indie shop install or you can install it if you have all the proper tools and knowhow. Caution, an indie shop may make matters worse unless they are very familiar with luxury car electronics.
