The best thing is to sell your own car. I know it seems like a real pain--- but it works. Especially if you have a really nice car---kept it up well. Here in Florida I notice the dealers offer about 1/2 the retail value for trades---really bad. I would think a nice Genesis would sell well. Ive sold many cars on my own, never had a problem. Thank you for your post. I am going to CarMax this morning to get a free estimate on my 2002 Honda Civic SI just so I know where I stand. It is valued online around $3500 - $4000 and wanted an estimate before getting the new 2015 G. Depending on the offer I will sell it outright or trade it in. I too have noticed on past experiences here in Florida that they do offer about 1/2 the retail value as you stated. I have never been to CarMax so looking forward to seeing how they evaluate a car. The process takes (according to their website) about 30 minutes and you can watch them go through the car.
