If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Dynomax VT Mufflers Installed

Nope, I have this cat-back system installed in mine
(http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/displayapplications.asp?partnumber=16497).

I don't know why it took me so long to take the plunge for the VTs. I briefly put it under my car and it looks like an easy job. I was a bit hesitant because the OP stated that his exhaust guy is an "artist".

When I had the Magnaflow catback I had a muffler shop try to fit the VTs and they said it wouldn't work. I hope you have better luck.

You could probably use brush on brake caliper paint. That stuff is super high temp.

Thanks for the recommendation, that should work! Worst case scenario, I can extract the liquid from a can of exhaust spray paint but that sounds awfully messy so I'd love to avoid it.

Took it to a shop today. They are thinking that the current magnaflow exhaust tips might not fit on the Dynomax VT. Upon checking the Magnaflow website, it does not look like they sell tips that fit a 2.5" outlet (only 2.25" outlet). Flowmaster sells identical tips for $65 per tip (Clamp ons with a 2.5" outlet).

Will be taking it in tomorrow for them to put on a lift to check out the fitment. Will keep everyone posted.

Looks good, just bought it!

Sweet! It is good stuff. I have always sworn by it

Awesome thank you!

So I brought my vehicle into CarLine Mufflers (NE Location) and wow. Blown away by the service I received. They gave me 5 minutes for them to get everything setup during lunch time (when a lot of the staff are away) and put it on a lift to inspect it. I asked when I can bring the vehicle in. They told me... right after lunch!

So it's at the shop and hopefully I will hear from them later today.

So, ran into a little bit of trouble with these. The OP is correct. The mufflers have to be installed at an angle as it is wider compared to the existing Magnaflow mufflers.

Due to the angle, I may not be able to keep the existing tips from the mufflers.

Wow! This was a quick update. Mufflers were successfully installed. The magnaflow tips were too long to install on the Dynomax so a separate tip is being used (Single tip).

No more quad tips. The quad tips from the Magnaflow were too long to fit on the Dynomax VTs. It would stick out way too much and look really off.

They had these on hand and it was the closest thing to looking stock so opted for these instead. Looks a little off but getting used to the look.

The tips are a FloPro ST062. The ST062 is a resonated exhaust tip the ST062N is a non-resonated tip. The resonated tip quiets the mufflers even more.

Eventually, I'll be purchasing 2012-2014 Tail lights as well as the bumper so I am not too worried about the tips.

On idle, it is much quieter than the videos posted. On full throttle, I can no longer hear the exhaust over the CAI. It's not as loud as I expected from the interior of the cabin on full throttle. However, much louder heard from the outside.

Overall, very happy with the mod.

EDIT: Also these are the ones with the foam inserts.

That sounds like a properly aggressive exhaust note!

Because no one else posted a test drive video of the VT's I took the liberty to install them and make one haha. JK. But here is my custom exhaust with the Dynomax VT mufflers, love them!! Thanks guys so much!!

Nice.. Sounds great.. Please validate the lack of drone on the highway.

I am lazy at the moment.. Instead of looking up the bumper mounted driving light thread, I will ask you.. Where did you get them? Easy to install? How much? They do not look bad as a add on. Can tell they are aftermarket.. However, I am curious.. Would consider them in my 2012, or maybe another car or truck I own.. Thanks

Has anyone ever compared the 5.0 and 4.6 exhaust notes? Do they sound similar and have the same character or is the 5.0 radically different?

This is the loudest Dynomax VT exhaust I've ever heard. That takes a lot of effort from what I hear since these mufflers are generally very quiet.

It's the resonator delete ^^ it can be quietish if driven normally :) but I couldn't contain my self yesterday. There are one or two pass in the video of normal driving the rest is holding it in gear. Also this was the 5.0 but just remember louder because of missing resonator.

No drone on the highway even with the resonators deleted; you can here I slight hum of the exhaust if you turn the radio off that's it. The running lights are a custom job lol yes. They are from a CLS63 Mercedes, cause I just had to have them, probably more expensive than anyone would want to spend ^^ . Still tunning there projection to match the cut off of the head lights and such.

Careful comparing my Rspec (5.0) vid because there is also an x pipe in there which changes the pitch slightly.

Wow.. Cool about the lights. Jealous. I have been reconsidering my 2012. With the 2015, been thinking Ridgid collars, polyurethane sway bar bushings, and exhaust. Love the total sleeper mode it has now...total quiet fast.. But more I hear the V8 with set up like you have, sounds too cool.. Since I have the 2015, will still have a quiet ride. Although much slower. Might spruce up the 2012 for fun. Thanks for the input.
