  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Early Owner Feedback

Unless

The 3.3T G70 should be even with an S4 and wreck the A4 unless the A4 has been modded
OG did not specify which model he was asking about. Just figured he wanted to hear tales of the 2.0t getting spanked by M3s 😎

Yeah, sounds like a little miscommunication there.... so the 3.3T beats mustang GTs, SRTs, and Camaros and the 2.0T keeps up with the 2.0 A4... both very good pieces of information!!

Yup. Turn off car and open the door. The seat slides back and steering wheel moves up. I believe there is 3 settings of how far everything moves. When getting in, simply sit, close the door and everything moves back to the last setting.

Just to add to this there are different settings. I have mine set so that only the steering wheel and side bolsters move which is nice and all I want. I don't want my kids legs getting squished more than they already are. lol

As for the stop light races, I actually haven't had a single official one from a stop, but I have enjoyed how I can always pull ahead of someone easily, even if they try not to let me pull ahead. I did get a thumbs up from a newer A4 2.0T when he couldn't keep up and a thumbs up from an older WRX that couldn't keep up.

Keep up to what? I assume u have the 2.0 prestige or whatever the 3.3 sport is called with the bolster adjustments

Edmguy has the 3.3T engine

New owner and new poster (2.0T)!

Love the car but if there is one gripe it is the off the line acceleration which has been brought up on the last couple pages; It is very slow initially, then punches hard (if you have your foot down) which makes it very jerky. If you don't have your foot down (which normally I wouldn't, i don't in my other cars) it is very slow for about 2 seconds. Not sure if it's horrific turbo lag or more likely bad programming and/or a tall first gear (which it shouldn't have with so many gears). I hope they are able to reprogram a fix because while it's one problem on an amazing vehicle, it's one you see everytime you come to a stop.

Curious...does your car have all the drive modes? If so...what mode are you in when you describe the above?

Doesn't matter whether in comfort or sport, still the same issue. Also i find my car to actually be better than the test drive unit so I don't think it's my car particularily.

Thinking about it more, it's not 2 seconds, more like 1/2. However still long enough to notice that you aren't moving fast enough. Like I said, you can go fast, but when you do it's jerky. As a comparison my Forester XT is both faster and smoother.

I think its probably a dichotomy of design issue, they want the car generally to feel smooth and refined so it's smooth of the line, but once it realizes you wanna boogie it jerks u back. The turbo is probably like that on purpose, to avoid excessive gas usage and a touchy peddle.. mind you in sport more from a stop if you stomp on it mine just goes, not much lag at all as far as turbo cars go.
Ill be eager to see a 6 speed owner chime in about how it feels once they hit the road. Ill be jealous, i wish i could have waited for it.

Don't manufacturers also tend to limit torque in first gear to prevent damage to the transmission/burnout? Wondering if that might be a factor? I personally haven't noticed it as an issue ... but I'm not typically stomping on it from a stop.

I think this is exactly what it is, but i find it actually has the opposite effect of what's intended. Because the throttle is so retarded, you tend to go harder on the gas which makes it jerk. If they reduce this i think the car will be both smoother and faster in 'normal' driving.

Ya, i mean if i cared about speed that much i would have bought a focus RS, but id rather have a well balanced package. This car goes fast enough to get u into trouble, not sure why anyone would buy the 2.0t version and want to race it. Its a pretty heavy car and its a 2.0 litre... Physics says shes not doing much until boost comes on, and boost just cant be instant unless you are dropping the clutch at 2500rpm.

Maybe the piggy back unit helps this, anyone hear any moded stinger 2.0t stories?

But does it smooth it out? Lowers boost or valve lift rpm threshholds? Id like to see a bit more crackle and pop off throttle without doing a custom cat back
That I do not know. But I thought the 2.0T has a sport exhaust...I think only with the stick though.

That is correct, mine does not. Im hoping that a short ram, and a bit of piggy back programmed valve lift will give me the desired sound and performance, dont wanna do much more to it. Been down the performance tuning rabbit hole too many times, wanna keep this one simple
