  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Early Owner Feedback

That is interesting as the light leaving my neighborhood has those sensors in the ground and as I leave before 7am in the morning and there typically is never anyone at the light I almost always end up on the sensor. Never had anything beep at me though. I have been trying to get close to other vehicles since reading this here as well but haven't noticed it yet.

It occurs when I’m further back from the sensor and I can’t say if it happens when I’m directly over it. I will try and get a video of this. It also happens intermittently. But when it does happen, I know the light is about to change, without fail.

My parking sensors will randomly go off while in stopped traffic. Detects objects that aren't there, sometimes it can last 1-3 seconds, other times 4-6. I've found that probably 9/10 times this happens is when I'm behind a Ford product.

For me it’s Teslas. Don’t have to be behind them, just nearby or next to them. I was just next to two Teslas (one in back of the other stopped in the lane to my right) this afternooon and was about to say that I was surprised that the sensors did not go off when a second later they went off. Definitely no correlation to the street sensor or the light changing. It did not change for another 20-30 seconds.

So after driving the car for a few days I have few little observations.

1. I'm around 400kms in now, and my average fuel consumption is 11.5L/100kms. I've been driving in Custom. Engine/transmission in Sport, Steering in Sport, Suspension in Comfort, and AWD in Eco so that I'm basically RWD unless something goes horribly wrong. If I stay off the boost, I can get below 9. If I were to switch the engine to Eco as well I'd imagine I'd be able to go even lower, but where's the fun in that?

2. The Lexicon System can play High-res audio files and sounds quite good as long as you don't turn any of the tone controls up too high.

3. I freaking love mechanical limited slip differentials. Grip levels are insanely high - the combination of tires, LSD, and AWD is extremely confidence inspiring.

4. I really, really wish that the car would stay in Custom drive mode when you turn it on. Having to switch from Comfort to Custom every time is super annoying.

5. I really freaking love mechanical limited slip differentials.

Good to hear you are liking it. I agree with everything you mentioned. And I have noticed if you drive in Eco and turn off the car it will start in Eco so I don't know why it won't do that for other settings.

I was just reminded today of one of the huge pluses with this car especially over the Kia Stinger and I didn't notice it until I took delivery - No auto stop/restart! I found it really rough in the Kia and turned it off on both of my test drives. Never noticed that the G70 didn't have it until I got the car home. Huge plus not having to push that button every time you start the car.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I'm guessing that the default to Comfort when you start the car has some liability issue to it that Genesis would like to avoid.

Possible. I figured it was something with the EPA ratings. My G80 will stay in ECO mode, but not Sport.

Same here. I find it annoying but not the end of the world. I do most of my driving in Sport mode.

Can someone explain the monthly health reports to me? This was my first full month with the car and this is the report:

What I don't get is shouldn't this be for the full month? I definitely started it more than 10 times and drove more than 234km...

I was thinking maybe it was since last fill but I fueled up the evening of may 31 and only drove a few km after and that info would be useless in this report.

What are other people getting?

The other crazy thing is I have 3383km since Apr 28!!! I drive too much!

I'm no doctor folks...but from what I can tell...serious case of blue balls.

Cure? Go out...and redline the heck out of it and have some fun !!

At my two month mark I had 5036 miles. I definitely drive too much.

It's saying drive it more often and harder!

You missed 6. You really freaking love mechanical limited slip differentials.

;)

I drove just under 3000km in 31 days! I would say that is driving quite a bit. And that is all city driving!! Well as far as Acheson, St Albert, and Sherwood Park, but within Greater Edmonton. :)

The report still makes no sense at all. o_O

At my two month mark I had 5036 miles. I definitely drive too much.

If I do another month like that will be just under 6000km for two months so about 3750 miles. 5000 is definitely a lot.

So I was on Groat road mid-morning today. Not ideal conditions with the rain, but jeez this car sticks like glue. I'm not going to post how quick I was going, but all the Edmonton folks here know what I'm talking about.

I love switching to Sport mode in the morning...the reason I love this car! Twin turbo V6...hopefully nobody purchased if looking for an econo car...

How does the Genesis app work for remote starting. Pass or fail?

Log in, enter your pin and start the car. Doors have to be locked.

It takes 45 seconds to a minute to register, but it works as advertised

As mentioned above. I think it should allow more than 10 minutes of run time and it really should have the ability to turn on seat heaters and coolers.

And how is groat with the construction? I have been avoiding it this year because of it
