  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Early Owner Feedback

^ i agree in principle. i have no issue with the initial 0-60 acceleration numbers posted about the 3.3T. those seem reasonable. my skepticism is with the 2.0T numbers. i've seen more than one informal 'test' showing over 7 seconds. i just can't figure out how this can be. my hope is that the youtube reviewers have loaded up a bunch of gear and may carry an extra passenger?

how can the G70 2.0T be ~2 seconds slower than similarly spec'd competition? of course each car has different weight, gearing, etc, but we should be talking in fractions of seconds, not a second or two! i am keenly awaiting the first of the instrumented tests data to come in, because something just isn't right with the initial numbers.

heck, if the Accord 2.0 Sport hits 0-60 in 5.5s as a front driver with similar weight to the G70, no way the G70 is well over 7s.

As I mentioned before somewhere, the car's programming can be a factor. One review mentioned that the engine power on launch is eased off to make for smoother starts. I think this was for the manual, but the point is, there may be programming in the system that could have a huge influence on stuff like 0-60 times. One more factor that might make a difference. The days when only the mechanical basics of the car and the skill of the driver determined performance are long behind us. For better or worse, electronics now can play a substantial role.

Thats what im saying. The nebulous 7.4sec run was done without LC, wheras all official numbers will be absolute best conditions with computer assistance. Is it possible to do a 7.4 sec 0-60 with the G70 on a slight incline, into a head wind, without TC and LC? Probably, but the A4 would be the same story.
If the car is geared for a slower 0-60 than an A4, ill take it, cuz that means it will probably pull harder in any gear 50-75 (80-120kph)which is far more usable in daily driving imho.

Depends. I rarely do LC in normal driving. Normal 0 to 60 and 30 to 60 and 50-75 will be what will really matter to me.

2 annoyances and actual complaints, and I'm not being picky:

1. Radio channel selection: when you are in the radio screen, where you see all your channels, you scroll the button on your steering wheel up and down to move up and down on your saved channel list. But if you are not in the radio screen, say you are in navigation, the effect is reversed. You scroll up to go down the list and down to go up, drives me nuts.

2. The map doesn't display some major road names properly. Say when you are approaching a larger road up ahead, the map wouldn't tell you the name of the road you are going to hit. You will have to scroll the map to the left/right quite a bit to find the name of that road. It does not show you the name in the middle of the screen right on the intersection (or slight off to the side) as it should.
1) I noticed this too. When you're in the radio station menu, up will move the selected station up on the list (e.g. from station 2 to 1) so it is intuitive IF you are looking at the nav screen. If you are not in the radio station menu then it will skip forward to the next station, reversing itself from the first scenario. It took me a little while to get used to it but I primarily use Android Auto anyway so it doesn't bother me.

In my 2015 F-150, the channel controls are left/right buttons... always push right to move to the next channel (either on your list or by numbers) and left to go "back" a channel... that seems to be the most intuitive way to do it. An up/down button seems to confuse things a bit depending on what different people perceive as "up and down" the channel list (by number or direction)

But, as you said, using CarPlay or An. Auto it doesn't matter... Also, if you have to get do it the weird up down way, you'll get used to it pretty quick!

Considering that Car and Driver had a 2.0T Audi A4 at 5.1s, that would not be good news for the 2.0T.

But for the lighter G70, C/D will likely get a 0-60 time of around 5.8s (as opposed to 6.1s for the Stinger) - which would be a little slower than the 330i (5.4s) but quicker than the C300 (6.1s - same as the Stinger).

And considering what MT got for the Stinger, their 0-60 time should be similar to the A5 coupe.

As long as the 2.0T is in the ballpark, should be fine (most buyers don't care that much about 0-60 times; see the sales success of the C and E Classes.

And let's not forget, there's new 2.5L on the way, as well the 10 spd AT (and possibly a DCT) - so acceleration times will drop for those that place a priority on it.

Where did you see that?

This might be a stupid question (or maybe not)... but how do you get into "Manual" mode to use the paddle shifters? All I see on the electronic gear selector is RND... there is no M for a manual mode like most cars have!

Just use them, especially in sport mode, itll change and hold gears (until self preservation kicks in). Pull in + and hold to go back to auto D

Happens automatically when you use the paddles. Nothing special to do.

It is actually quite annoying in that every time you come to a stop it goes back to D. I am sure there is a way around that, but I haven't noticed it yet (or actually read the manual...).

Just tap "-" and it should hold 1and tap + to change. You would have to reselect first gear in a manual car too, unless u sit through lights with the clutch and brake mashed.

Why would i have to Google myself? HAHA! But no I'm an SNL fan so I did not have to google him
Thats why i asked, if you know who he is, then you are likely him. Lol you ruined my sweet kyle mooney burn.

I guess my issue is maybe that I come from a BMW and on them, if you don't shift into first gear when coming to a stop, the car shifts into first for you and it is still in manual. With the G70, if you don't think of putting it in first, it changes to 'drive' automatically. I just find it irritating because if I want it to be in manual, I don't want it to change out on its own.

That said I hardly ever use it so not really a big issue for me.
