  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Electric GV70

We have a 2024 GV70EV and a 2024 Polestar PS2. Tesla just opened their Superchargers to Volvo & Polestar EV's, and we purchased the A2Z Typhoon Pro NACS adapter, which will work on CCS EV, that is supported by Tesla.

The NACS-CCS adapters are pass through devices and not unique to a particular vehicle. The adapter we bought for use on the Polestar will work on the GV70EV once Tesla accepts Genesis/Hyundai into their network. From what I've been able to tell, there are three recommended adapter manufacturers for use in the US, Lectron, A2Z, and the adapters manufactured by Tesla and supplied to the EV OEM's (Ford, GM, Rivian, Volvo, Polestar) for distribution to their customers. You can also go online and find other adapter manufacturers selling cheaper product, but the common recommendation for adapters are the three companies I previously mentioned.
Thank you for the information.
Does Tesla charge non-Tesla owners to use their superchargers, or just for the electricity used?

It would nice to get the ICCU recall done at the same time, but it doesn’t look like a repair is available yet. Will it ever be?
I have an appointment scheduled for Dec 12 to get the recall done….I scheduled online, so I didn’t talk with a service rep to see if the fix is ready. I’ll confirm with my service rep before going to the dealer

Tough question to answer since I've yet to charge at a Tesla station. From what I've read, the Tesla rate for non-Tesla owners is comparable to the EA rate, however if you "subscribe" to the monthly subscription ($12.99/month), you will receive the same rate as Tesla owners. I'm planning to charge our Polestar at a nearby Tesla station this week just to verify everything works without issue.

We do about 98% of our charging at home, so no plans for a Tesla membership, plus have the free charging at EA stations thanks to the Genesis EA incentive when we leased our vehicle (free charging for 3 years).

I share the same kind of usage, maybe even 99% at home, because we also have a charger at the cottage and plenty of range to make it there without charging along the way (190 km). So public charging is only for inter-city trips, which don't happen that often (And I also work from home). Also in Québec there is a very decent charging network which won't make the Tesla network a big necessity, if anything it will be a bonus for traveling out of province or in the U.S., so a nice addition yes but I was able to make do without it so far and not have it being an issue.

I'll still get that adapter once Genesis vehicles are supported, just for added peace of mind.

What I wonder is for the 2026 GV70 EV's coming with a NACS plug, if it will add any penalty to charging speed when using an adapter for CCS chargers...!

Wow, 2026 model looking pretty tempting!!

I'm still on the fence about the big screen though:

- When you add up the existing screens (~12" + ~14" = ~26" vs 28"), you only have about 2" more in width, most of which will anyways be hidden by the steering wheel rim and your hands on it. Is there any gain?

- I find it breaks the otherwise much more organic design of the dash.

- In the same vein, originality is gone, everybody else does it, you can have the same look on the dash of a Tucson or Sportage. It's like looking at a big phone and to me it never will screem luxury like a leather-covered instrument binnacle does, it's a question of looks, feeling and texture.

That said, there's advantages too, mainly the bigger battery (I also find myself more fond of the star map than the montains silhouette in the backlit door armrests). I prefer the design of my 21" though.

The only aspect I dislike about the 2026 GV70 Electrified is the wheels, although they are starting to grow on me and may look better in person. I love the interior and all the changes they've made overall to the vehicle, so I plan to get the 2026 model next year.

App update. SOC is shown on the main page now.

They only had to do a software update - no replacement of any parts for the ICCU recall
They also replaced the "remote call button" due to campaign T38G (didn't know about this one)

The 2026 model certainly represents a tempting purchase proposition for me. Fyi.. Among several other things, a couple of new features on the 2026 eGV70 will be amber-colored rear turn signals and revised rear exterior door handles that duplicate front door handle functionality (think all-doors lock/unlock control). ;)
