Electronics in car a joke ... Mute,freeze,etc...give up !!!

Hi ya guys .... I have spent much too much time on this & my 2010 v8 w/tech does the same thing ipod freeze, audio no sound, does not work but after parking it comes back !!! Well I hate to give you guys the bad news but in my opion the electronics in the car is just CRAP and nothing can fix it. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO CHANGE THE WHOLE SYSTEM IN THE NEW CARS COMING but that does not help me or you. So I have a little battery panasonic radio on the floor in the back & when my system goes out I just go battery fm radio...... and wire headset for my phone ( so I don't get a ticket) and call it a day !!! WHEN MY LEASE IS UP I'M DONE WITH HYUNDAI . oh yea I must have sent 25 emails to Hyundai usa & only got one answer ... he said I will get back to you ! ...still waiting it's been a few months ha,ha,ha but I must say other than the audio system I like the car very much ......... BUT I LIKE MY MUSIC MORE IN THE CAR !!!! I DO A LOT OF DRIVING ALONE SO TUNES ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO ME !!!! THE NAV ALSO TELLS YOU TO GO WRONG WAY !!! I DON'T USE IT .. JUST CRAP AT LEAST AROUND NYC ..... I WANTED TO SAVE A FEW BUCKS AND GOT WHAT I PAID FOR !!! BMW HERE I COME 18 MONTHS TILL I GET MY NEW BMW 535I CAN'T WAIT ...GOOD LUCK !!

Have you taken it back to the dealer to have it fixed? If not, then please explay as to WHY you have not done so and instead just blame Hyundai???

Have you read the owners manual? I'm sorry, but if your rants to Hyundai were anything like the rant above, well....no wonder...you probably don't need an electronically enhanced car...maybe a Cobalt or Malibu would be more in line with what you need...

Seriously, as others have stated why haven't you been to the dealer? Empower yourself. Read up on Lemon Laws in your state. Seems to me you just want to complain about a perceived problem and don't want to work on solving the problem? Stop complaining, make them fix it! Get an attorney....

Trust me... there is no nirvana in a BMW!

I think a couple of you folks are being a little to hard on the OP and it looks like you are owners of a 2012 Genesis. All I have to say is hold on your day may be coming as Hyundai has not yet found a fix for this problem or the tilt wheel problem that has carried over to the 2012's.
It is my understanding that some owners have had the head units ,amplifier and roof antenna replaced to know avail. My dealer told me the next time that my Audio went down to bring it right in as when it is working there is nothing that they can do because there are no failure codes for this problem. My Audio has failed 4 times and I can not get it to the dealer because I am either not near the dealer or the dealership is closed when this happens. This is frustrating for all the reason that the OP mentioned, you all so lose the use of the Navigation as there is no voice command and the map freezes and the arrows you see on the map will have you going in circles.
I am not ready to bail out of the Genesis because I have been around to know that from the $125,000 to the $20,000 , all cars have their problems.
OP I understand your frustrations but hang in there and let's hope Hyundai gets a handle on this soon. For those of you who think you have all the answers I can't wait to see your post when it happens to you.

I would suggest you visit your dealer, You still have to live with this car for 18 months even if you hate it. Your Service dept should be able to resolve this issue for you.

I have had one nagging electronic issue. The back up camera stops working, it is intermittent and never a problem when I am at the dealer so I can't blame the dealer for failing to repair that...

I HAVE BEEN THERE AT LEAST 10 TIMES !!! and they are very nice folks at my dealer CHANGED EVERYTHING !!! still no FIX .... spent hours going and coming from dealer they put in NEW HEAD UNITS rebuilt ones ,amps etc NO it just does not work... they went as far as selling me another car for $7000.00 more ha,ha,ha... really cheap because I have 10,000 miles on mine ..I have sent 25 emails to hyundia usa ..no real answer ....lemon law good luck in nyc ..who has the time !!! The car runs fine .. fast,fun to drive ac cool, tires are crap we all know that ETC.... BUT THE ELECTRONICS JUST CAN'T BE FIXED !!! So, you traded your first car in on a second one for another $7K and it has the same problem? For that much money you could have had a really nice custom installed system that would be fantastic. Sorry you are having so many issues.

Stop sending emails to Hyundai USA and either write them a letter or CALL them. If your car isn't operating as it should, they need to fix the problem.

You're encountering the exact same problem with two different cars...that is, unresolvable audio issues? The odds of that are incredibly low.

You seem convinced that a new BMW will be the solution. I hope it works out that way for you, but the collective experience of numerous ex-BMW owners on this site don't bode well.

Perhaps you should send a written letter to HMA. E-mails are easy to ignore. But if you do, go easy on the caps, man...no one likes to be yelled at.

Only a few hundred more a month? My hunch is it you couldn't afford the 5Series before and you can't afford it now. Sorry your having trouble with your car but complaining to us here doesn't solve your problem, does it...
