  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In my 2009 Genesis, I could add a phone number quickly by dialing it from my iPhone, which would then display the number in my dialed numbers screen. I'd then choose "add number" and assign a name to that number and I was done.

However, in the Equus, when I do this, it displays "UNKNOWN" instead of the number. Anyone know of a workaround?

(I could import my iPhone directory, I know, but I really don't need 974 numbers stored in the Equus. Furthermore, if I did, I'd have to identify which Charles or which Brett or which Susan I wanted to call, since I have more than one of each of those. I tried it and ended up deleting the phone book and re-entering the core numbers I prefer to have stored in the Equus.)

I just tried it, dialing a number not in my phone book. It worked exactly as you described in the Gen after naming the dialed number and saving to phone book.
Confirmed by scrolling down, seeing it, and using it to dial.
(This was done from Call History using an iPhone 4)

One more thing:
When calling a known number from the phone directly, one that's already in my downloaded phone book, I get the same unknown message and the call is not recorded in history.

Weird. Same phone, same car--Equus Ultimate--different results!

Thanks for checking it out--I'll mention it to my Equus dealer next time I talk to them...
