  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My first Car was a 1969 Chevelle Malibu ( I found a similar picture on line ) . I was 19 years old and bought it then learned to drive it ! It was silver but I called it battle ship grey ! It came 60 inch wheels on mags. I know it had a three on the tree but don't remember what size engine - I believe it had a straight 6. I just loved that car ! Buying and Driving the Genesis gives me that same feeling . I guess it makes me want to dig up old pictures.

My favorite car was an 86 Porsche 928 with the 32valve 5.0 V8....Drove it every day for 10 years. Only weakness was crappy A/C supplied by a GM compressor.

My first car... 1988 Honda Accord DX Hatchback. It was a total POS and I got it with 112k but I tell you what the pep that I somehow got out of those 97 horses was fun. My stereo cost more then the car was worth!

Honda Goldwing, had five of them (still have #5) before I thought I need four wheels (actually the A/C and the butt cooler were what sold me lol )

2004 Cobra, the Genesis is a totally different car though. I like to relax now, I've had my time of going stupid fast.

1973 Ford Capri full race car with a Holley carb, MSD race ignition and a massive turbo that used to dump what seemed like a quarter tank of gas in when it spooled up. I like the genesis double takes but nothing compared to the expression on a Porsche owners face when I was chirping into 3rd at a 150 km/hr and blowing their doors off in the corners. I had to tune it every weekend and new valve covers 3 times a year but learned a lot about cars and going sideways. To this day I wish I kept it......a rare German car with nice lines

Austin-Healey 100 I bought used in 1957. I broiled in the summer, froze in the winter, got wet when it rained, and tuned the SU carbs about weekly, but the car felt like an extension of me.

It was 1972 I was 22 years old and had just returned home from Viet Nam. I purchased
a 1970 Nova Super Sports and installed an 8 track tape player in the glove box.

1999 Mazda 929. When it went well over 100K I couldn't get another because Mazda withdrew them from the US market. Traded for Mercedes E320 and that's when the trouble began. When Hallmark Hyundai in Hendersonville, TN took that rusted out E car off my hands I was so relieved. Have had 13, 677 terrific miles in the Genesis since Dec 26, 2009.

I have had a lot of cars that were all favorites at the time. Those that stand out as being pure fun to drive were 1985 Toyota MR2, 1987 Merkur XR4Ti and a 2006 GTO. All were stick shift, all were a blast to drive, only the Toyota was reliable.

I had a Merkur as well- loved the picnic table rear wings! Favorite, fun to drive were my '89 & '93 T-Bird Super Coupes both 5-SPEED with HyperTech chips. Tons of back against the seat torque and all around a better car and higher level than my previous '86 Mustang SVO (had similar Merkur wing!). After that, the dullness of family cruisers Infiniti J30T, Mercedes ML320, Olds Aurora, BMW 530 and finally Genesis.

a 1977 Triumph Tr-7 convertible. I bought it restored and it ran great for 3 years before it caught fire on the highway... I loved that car...

Slow doesn't begin to explain how under powered that little 2 litre was..

It had "float bowl" carbs with these weird oil reserve things which controlled the needle movement, I had to fill them about every 75 miles... on a long trip I failed to fill up enough I guess. gas overfilled the bowls hit the exhaust manifold and the car went up..

Handled very well, nice room for me (6 foot) and was a drop top...

Three(edited from 2) cars stand out. Now that I'm older my memory isnt what it used to be ( haha)

1964 VW - bug, lowered, a built 1776cc dual 44 webbers, short shift, tranny strap, roll cage, custom interior.

1991 Nissan Maxima - Lowered, exhaust, intake, 800 watt reference (audiophile) sony mini disk system.

2001 Jaguar xj8 - custom performance exhaust.

My first car was a V8 65 mustang, unfortunately I beat the crap out of that car.
In later years I bought and restored another, seen below but this one is a six.
Hopefully my next car will be a 5.0 Genesis, can't wait!
