  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Finally installed my OEM Fog lights

Get a new dealer.

If you order this part: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171715662714?rmvSB=true
It will give you full OEM fog-light functionality from the drivers seat.

The wiring exists all the way to the front of the car. At the connector on the car side that connects the bumper cover to the car, there are a a pair of orange and black wires dedicated to the fog-lights. Splice into those and add a waterproof connector. Make a new wiring harness that connects that connector to the fog-lights and zip tie it to the existing harness and make a connection to the OEM fog-lights you can order off ebay and you are done.

I was able to get my dealer to install my replacement multi-function switch (turn-signal stalk) for $130. It works as if it was on a 5.0 V8. I'm still pricing out making the new wiring harness to make the final connection.

I bought the whole replacement bumper harness on Ebay along with the multi-function switch.

With that, you can take the bumper off and replace the the entire existing bumper harness (supposedly have to reconfigure pins on the parking sensors, though)

OR

take the new bumper harness apart and just make a fog light sub harness out of it - that way you'll have the same OEM waterproof connectors that fit directly into connectors that are already present on the power harness with the orange/black leads and at the fog lights.

I'm think I'm going to do the second as I'm not big on taking off the bumper and re-configuring the parking sensor connector pins when it is not really necessary. Thee dealer is going to install the switch wen they replace the radio in a few weeks too.

Look on amazon. Yeah they are my DRL's but I also turn on the eyelids during the day. It looks better than the yellow signals to me.

this .... I also turn on Parking lights (looks much better than orange DRL's) and cool thing it turned off/on with the car, no worries...
will put on fogs next month .... gr8 idea
now who has the hardwired radar detector from back mirror DIY (with pics):)

Just picked up my 3.8 AWD Ultimate on Friday and love it!

Which detector?
I just hardwired my V1 w/remote display (but not loving my display location) but used the spare fuse as source for power. The mirrortap is nice but it cant support the remote display.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Slightly off-topic, but IMHO it really is a crying dam shame that LED fog lights aren't included with any package on the 3.8 version of the Genesis. Shoot - I'd even feel better if it were a stand alone option! My previous 2014 Azera had them and you can even get them on lower priced, less optioned Hyundai Sonata's and Elantra's. I have no idea what the product designers were thinking. Anyhow......

I'm glad to be a part of this forum and glad I ran across this thread. Hopefully I can contribute something other than vent my spleen about fog lights or the lack thereof. :D

Simply ran wires to the fuse box and tapped off the headlight washer and put an inline 20a fuse then made a connection to the ground. I picked up the correct connectors from amazon. Using a lift and removing the bottom, front engine cover the whole job took 35 min. The lights go on when the car is running and shut of when the car is shut off. No switch or relay is used.

How do you turn it off when high beams are on?

This is fixed for 2016. Signature and up get fogs.

I bought everything need to get the job done but the only thing I'm not sure about is does the bumper need to come off? Or do you just remove the bottom engine panel and install the fog lights? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I love it. I can't wait to update my Genesis. I'll do some research with a buddy at Hyundai on parts. If that does not work it's off to eBay.
