If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Has anybody else had any issues with their interior dome lights flickering? I've had a few days now that I've noticed when I open my door that that back dome light (possibly the front dome light as well, but by the time I noticed the flickering, all the lights were working) would flicker on and off, and every now and then would just stay off for a few seconds, come on, then go off again. I took it to the dealership but of course by that point it wouldn't do it for me any more. Anybody else have this experience? Don't know if it's an issue with the contacts for the LED's or a wiring issue.

Had this happen in several cars I have owned. Each time it was the bulb not being seated properly. Start there. You can check that yourself.

I've had same problem but could never replicate at deal, naturally! I tried opening the door fully rather than partially and it decreased. I think the problem may be the door switches sticking and so the lights are in mid cycle for coming on????

the same things happen to me. but they dont really flicker like on/off. it seems it just dims very fast like they are getting half power then full power than half power

Check your door light pin switches, they have to make good electrical contact when opened and if you are near salt water then a little corrosion can cause a flicker. Corrision can form faster on parts not moved like doors not opened and closed often if a car sits and is not not used.

So much for getting an instant notification of your guy's responses, sorry about that. Ever since my original post I have yet to notice the lights flickering any more. I wish it didn't go away so I could at least check to see if it is an issue with the switch on the door sticking or if it's an issue with the seating of the led's. I will have to look through the manual to see how to safely remove the light covers to avoid leaving scratch marks from trying to pry them out. The newer cars get, the more nervous I am about taking them apart and getting them back together in the same condition.

I've had it happen maybe 6 or 7 times in 5 months. It's odd since there is no real pattern to it. The last time it happened (that would have been yesterday!) I was in the back seat and could actually hear the rear led's "whine" for lack of a better word as they were going on and off and flickering. Thought I was imagining the noise until I put my ear up to the light.
BEACHN did you ever take the covers off and reseat the bulbs?

For those that are having trouble with your inside lights flickering try and reset your door switch at the light assembly. I clicked mine on and off a couple of times and now the inside lights have stopped flickering.

Gurka, I have yet to take the covers off. I figured it couldn't possibly be an issue with the LED's themselves being that both LED's in the back are doing it exactly the same, so it's an issue with the power feed to them. I actually took video of it on my phone the last time I caught it doing it. It primarily was happening to the rear lights, but the fronts would do it intermittently as well. And I did hear that whining sound you described as well.

Fiat, I ddi turn on and off the door light switch like you were talking about and it did make the LED's begin to behave correctly. But I really shouldn't have to do that since the lights shouldn't be behaving like this to begin with. I wish I knew the actual cause to fix it. If there's this many people with the same issue, is it a design issue? I don't know the flow of current from source to load to know where to begin with troubleshooting it. And being that it only does this occasionaly, makes it even more difficult. I was just glad I was able to get it on video on my phone since the first time I tried it stopped flickering just as I got my phone out of my pocket.

same problem. i think it has to do with my music shaking up the connection. i have to hit the top of the ceiling and it stays on for weeks at a time. also cold weather too.

i'm not too sure how to open up the light casing etc but for now my method suffices. haha

Re: Flickering interior lights and heater fan occasionally not working

I have had this experience lately and I would like to know how to reset the door switch at the light assembly. Can someone elaborate on that for me? I also have an issue where my fan does not come on at all unless I bump the panel where it exists.. any answers? Thanks guys.
