  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Florida, California and Texas Dealer Update

Wasn't sure where to do the profile thing, but I got this screenshot from the Genesis of Palm Springs site. If I'm not mistaken, both cars are listed as "2.0 Advanced", right?

Most, if not all, are listed as Advanced since that is the name of the base model. Then different packages are added to bring up the trim levels.

Gotta love a dealer screwing up an already screwed up launch
Read up...the link to both cars is on up in the thread.

^ Sounds like either Steve doesn't know what is going on (which is probably the case given my experiences with Tyler there), they are hiding a markup, or they mistakenly said the price includes $5k in accessories on both their web site and cargurus. The third one is unlikely, the second is possible but the first is probable. ;)

This is his latest reply to me and mine to him:

I do appreciate your reply. I don't question the legality of markup, evidently the sensibility of it was not so good. Others dealers have tried and failed too.

You can mark up as much as you want, as a consumer I have the right to walk away. Looks like we won't be making a deal. Not the type of outfit I like to work with after 5 Hyundai/Genesis purchases.

I love that he is explaining "market pricing" to you. And, if it doesn't sell at that price--the dealer has misjudged and is SOL.

Translation....money money money we want more money

Sorry everyone, yeah there was not a 10k mark up. I just looked at the title of the car and it said 2.0t advanced and assumed that was the base model. I did not click on the window sticker where it stated it was the Sport model. My bad, I'm new to this....

Not a problem and welcome to the forum.
