  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

flutter @ 25-30mph

They do here for only Genesis/Equuis/G80/G90's.

to my car to the dealer for the fluttering noise they are tell me its not the drive shaft they don't know what the noise is they replaced the radio yesterday so now i wait and see

ok folks, I was hearing the flutter between 28 and 35 mph; it went away at slower and faster speeds. I was hoping to find a solution here, rather than take it to the dealer. However, I began getting some unrelated (so I thought) warnings on my dash. The AEB light would come on, the auto hold light would come on, the traction loss light would come on, all at once , and the screen would say "Check AEB system". So I took it in. The guys wouldn't let me drive the car because they thought it might be unsafe. Further, they said they needed to order a part, per Hyundai, in order to repair. So, here is what they did, reading from the paper work:
"Cause: lost communication with fuel pump control module." <12 different history codes> "Techline case # 9832732. Techline recommends replacement of the fuel pump control module. Replaced fuel pump control module and cleared all codes" I just took the car out for a drive today after getting back, and the flutter is gone.

ok i took my car to the dealer last wed they called me last night they figured out the drive shaft has to be replaced for the fluttering it took them a week to figure it out

I'm replying to my own post (above). The flutter came back, so nothing to do with fuel pump

I started noticing the fluttering problem between 25-30mph on my 2015 Genesis 3.8 AWD about four months after purchasing. Exact scenario as others in this thread and other threads on this forum have described. Goes away after about 15 mins. driving. Sometimes it's louder than other times where I can actually hear it over the radio. Sounds like it's coming from under the hood. Been to the dealer four times for it, and after trying different things, removing panels under the hood, messing with the injection system they could not figure it out. Hyundai technician was dispatched and tech diagnosed as the Evap Purge Valve. Replaced the Evap purge control solenoid. Still has the flutter problem. Some of the other folks in this forum have had their drive shafts replaced and I was just wondering if that fixed their fluttering problem. Can any of you confirm? Thanks..

i had the same thing have them replace the drive shaft it will be gone

Replaced my driveshaft assembly(propeller shaft is the culprit). No more fluttering.

How long since it was fixed? any paperwork that you could share with us?

I have driven approx 3k miles since replacement. Also, top speed of 105 mph to see if any issues at higher speeds. Give me to this afternoon to find paperwork and download. My service rep stated that all that is needed to find out what repairs were performed on another Hyundai is the VIN# and dealership name and then your dealer can search database. I can PM you my information. BTW_ before replacing the driveshaft assembly the fluttering noise was there every morning until the car warmed up. Fluttering noise gone.

I have noticed possibly the same thing on mine. It happens at 28-34 mph and is definitely from the right rear. It sounds more like a flapping sound almost like a rock or something in the wheel tread. Checked all the tires and they are fine and this also happens in the morning when the car is cold. Mine is not as loud as others have stated as I can only hear it if I turn my radio completely off. May take it in for the 1st oil change early just to see if they can hear it as well. This and no sound from my system 3x now is the only issue I have had in the few weeks of driving it.

Yeah, I can hear that every day, right after I start driving. Hopefully, it will never came back, after they replaced the driveshaft. Just keep and "eye" on it, lol

Please PM me with more info and...if you don't mind, post it here as well, so the others can benefit from this, instead of asking over and over again. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I've got a call out to the Hyundai rep (had a case opened up for this a while back) to see what the next step is. If you don't mind to PM me the info on your repair I would appreciate it. Thanks...

Perfect, it's working! I'm gonna save it to my PC, so I can take this to my stealer and show it to him, lol Thanks!

I'm so glad I found this thread. I've been noticing this noise as well this winter whenever the temps are cooler here in Dallas! It's always when exiting the garage at work and driving through city streets at these speeds. Then the noise goes away after the car warms up. For me, this isn't that big of an issue as I'm usually listening to music by then, but it's so noticeable when you're on a hands free call and can hear the flutter consistently.

I want to take it into the dealer, but I'm afraid that many dealerships here have been awful so far. I can't go yet *another* week for them to "diagnose" the issue...but I guess I'll just send them to this thread. :-)

Like NTX, I am glad to have found this thread as well. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what the noise was and it was driving me nuts. If I open my center console, I can hear it very well between 26 and 34 miles an hour - mostly as I am slowing down. Looks like I'll be bringing her to the dealership this week!
