Fog Light Harness in the 3.8L?

Miwoo thank for your post on the stalk part number and the web sit.
There is power in fuse for the fog lamp in the trunk I check yesterday. I took my 3.8 to KIA DEALER today because of the missing information I was reading from the posts. KIA check my car wiring with the Huundai dealer. ALL OF THE WIRING FOR FOG LAMPS IS IN PLACE, PLUG AND PLAY. LOOK AT MIWOO post for web sit to order the part. I order my parts to night because I need to put this to rest I am loosening sleep at night. Hear are the parts number you will need to order. Or better yet give your self 3 week to see how I maid out. I going to have KIA DEALER to instal the stalk.

That wiring harness part number doesn't work on the website - is there a typo/error in the number you posted for the wiring harness? Also, if I follow this correctly, you need 3 things:

- the fog lights themselves
- the stalk from the 5.0
- a wiring harness part

Where does this wiring harness part go - is it to connect the new stalk to the fog light harness that is already wired in the car? Thanks for any insights here.

Not related to fog lights but the other weird thing is the Canadians get some accessories I don't see in our list:

I got the cargo net from dealer ,when I bought the car. But the Trunk lip protector I had to buy myself,but they installed together with window tinting.
The storage trunk tray I had to buy online myself as well. Got it original with Hyundai sign on it.

There are two ways to wire the fog lights I help someone in my naborhood to in stall a harness we made with double relays for the fog light headlight and high beam control the least expensive way. we used one of the unused fuse terminals in the engine compartment fuse box and used a 7 amp breaker in between the lighted rocker switch and relay one swith by headlight on . when the highs are on relay two the fogs are off just like factory . relay three switches the power from the lighted rocker to the fog lights this is controled be a mini tap into a 10 amp spare located in the dirivers side fuse panel the enable relay turn on with engine running. the total cost of the project with the ebay fog no cutting needed was 510 dollars. It took 4 hours to wire and test . the other way I used the wiring that was there and a multi meter and voltage probe to check the circuit . the stalk I got form hyundai mobis those connectors you have to test each one one pin is a feedback pin used to illuminate the fog indicator on the dash you can use the first method I talk about and use a tap wire to the pin to illuminate the fog indicator on the dash . the wy i did it using the wire there was more exspensive both way will work. I am an electronic engineer

Basically they are on with all other lights and I can't switch them off.
I would like to rewire ,because I don't like the way the guy from lighting company installed.
So reading recent posts the wiring is there and the power comes to the fuse?
Also as I understood in dashboard is fog light symbol,that shows if fog lights are on?
I've been told by Hyundai tech manager that the 5.0 stalk won't fit on 3.8.
If so maybe we need to buy 3.8 H-track ?
Also I have downloaded blueprint for fog light wiring from Hyundai tech site, if anyone interested, I can upload it.

Nikgen Thank I left a 0 off the part number. Here is the number 91840-B1040. I got this information from Hyundai. Just hold off until I get my part and instal them on my car. For what model is the stalk? The Hyundaimeoparts.com was additional letters at the end , I forgot something like AX , but they didn't have explanation what models it fits

Look at the blog from Qman for the part number I order a similar number for hyundai of Canada you get a better price than I paid. I will look at your post and let you know what I think of the installation. Even with the stalk I still made my own harness to save money and fused the lead between the battery and the lighted rocker switch and also fused the third relay output between the relay and fog lights . I won't buy the factory because I already have the circuit in place and sealed.

The connection to the battery could have been neater there are three open spots on the left side of the 30 amp fuse. I used one of the spots to power the main feed for the fogs lights. I saw a relay which is a must in this installation I use two fuses for extra protection. Your installation has a fuse installed which is the
Right way to protect the circuit. If you want to control your fogs you could add a small blue lighted rocker switch costs about 6 dollars. I ran the wire for the switch 16 gauge through the fire wall seal located on the drivers side next to the break pedal seal no drilling needed . I install the switch on the fuse cover located on the fuse cover on the drivers side passenger compartment. The fuse is small and attractive truth is will allow to turn your fogs on and off . The switch is black with a little led in it it comes blue, red or green led color. On the three installations I help with so I used blue led . On one installation I gotthe primary power from a fuse from a spare fuse we located in the passenger fuse panel .
This was found using a voltage probe purchased from auto parts store. This fuse circuit turns off and on with the engine on . It located on the top right hand side of fuse panel named spare use a mini fuse tap. I wanted to give you some ideas if you wanted to improve on your installation. The way it is set up now it will work

I suspect that most dealers put you VIN in the computer and it tells them the correct stalk number. They don't understand or care that you are trying to use a part not designed for your car (according to US parts catalog).

Back in about 2011 when I upgraded my 2009 suspension to 2011 specs, the dealer who sold the parts to me online required a VIN to make sure I had the correct part numbers (they do that for all parts orders), so I used a VIN from a new 2011 model that I got from Hyundai dealer website. So if you want a stalk that has fog light controls on it, you may need to find a VIN for a model where it comes standard.

I think you are spot on with that assessment! They see the VIN bring up a 3.8 V6 so they are covering themselves in that the 5.0 V8 parts are technically not "correct" for the V6 model - I highly doubt their system tells them anything about what actually fits or not.

Because that's what exactly happened, they check my VIN, and said no, we can't get you the stalk, thank you very much!!!!
I'll look at dealership car sales for car that has fog lights and usually they have the VIN listed.

I will do the rewiring , I am not that good in car electronics, when I get the stalk and the wire harness delivered, will look around for somebody in South Florida, who has experience, won't go to dealership for this job, as they made me believe that the wiring is not there and there is no way to install the stalk.

Yes, "if" you can get them to ship it to US. But may not be so easy to get a Canadian dealer to do that. Might be better to get someone on this forum to purchase it for you and ship it to you. When a business ships stuff, there are export/import stuff they have to deal with, where an individual can "usually" skirt around that stuff without too much hassle.
