  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Fog Light Harness in the 3.8L?

Yes, "if" you can get them to ship it to US. But may not be so easy to get a Canadian dealer to do that. Might be better to get someone on this forum to purchase it for you and ship it to you. When a business ships stuff, there are export/import stuff they have to deal with, where an individual can "usually" skirt around that stuff without too much hassle.

Got it. , I can find a US car VIN which is with fog lights, I will have to look for 3.8 HTrack, because the 5.0 might not fit ?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

You won't find a US car VIN 3.8 H-Track with fog lights as they don't exist.

Ohhh, then only option is 5.0, but how does QMAN was able to order? He has 3.8 HTrack

I think he probably ordered the 5.0 stalk - which I suspect is what you need. I'd have a hard time believing they'd make a different light stalk with fog light controls for the 3.8 versus the 5.0? That would not make any sense with respect to manufacturing efficiency/part costs?

You are right, and that's what I am thinking too, but the tech manager told me it won't fit, and I am starting to doubt about that, because he told me that there is no existing wiring, what turns out that there is. I'll wait until QMAN gets the stalk and see if it fits.

i installed OEM fog light to my Genesis 3.8

How did you wire them? As Roikins asked, did you use the stalk from a 5.0 that has the fog light control switch? Was it a simple stalk swap or did you have to do any rewiring?
Since the connectors for the fog lights have been shown to be present up front by other posters, I'm thinking that the hrness/wiring may be common between the 5.0 and 3.8 models? Therfore, it may be as simple as plugging in the right stalk? I'm going to see if I can get a picture of the stalk connector on my 3.8 tomorrow - maybe someone can do the same for a 5.0 with fog lights and we can at least answer if it will fit without redoing the connectors. That still doesn't mean it will work - but one step closer, maybe?

I wired separate wire as I didn't know back then that the original wiring exists. You can see my pics of wiring and how the fog lights looks like 3-4 pages back at this topic. They stay on all the time with DRL and all other lights.
Yes the wiring is there as the fuse is also for fog lights. Look back at the topic, there you will see how others wired suggestions, and one member currently made a order for the stalk, waiting on him to see if it fits.

No problem
By the way, the OEM fog lights didn't come with any mounting hardware (screws/washers, etc.,) - is the hardware needed to mount already there to hold the filler pieces that are there in place of the foglights on the 3.8's? If so, I assume they can be reused to mount the fogs?

No, nothing came with the fog lights.Thats correct , everything is there , the same screws what holds the filler i used for the lights.

That's how it looks inside with original wiring. Photos from Hyundai tech website.

Thanks - very helpful. Would the Hyundai Tech website have pics of the stalks from the 3.8 versus the 5.0 to compare? How do you access this site?

It might have, just need to search for it. It's a subscription website, one week access cost $20.
It's kinda hard to find exactly what you need because a lot of technical names and short forms of part description names, have to know how to name right what you looking for, as my English is not my original language it's harder for me, but I think you should be alright,I speak fluent English, but when it's specific like parts and something not related regular conversation I have to search for the right words:)
Damn, I should look for it when my subscription was active, but I think I'll buy another week.

Thanks - I'll check it out!

Crazy expensive! I'm not that crazy about look of the dual projectors, but I do like the way the LED brows serve as both white LED DRL's and amber LED turn signals! I would actually prefer if we had the Canada/Australia setup with the single prjector, amber lamp turn signals and LED brow DRL's.

Btw, at least on the US Ultimate models, we already have full LED tail lights :).

Very expensive, I thought that we have the taillights already, but wasn't sure, thanks that you pointed it out. I could survive without the dual projectors , but would like to have that option that LED's are the DRL ,and leave the yellow DRL for turn signal, but it looks great with the LED's there as DRL and how they change yellow for turn signal.
I contacted the eBay seller from who I bought the fog lights regarding the fog light wiring harness and switch for fog lights. He responded that Monday he will find out the price and what's available, and sent me these lights.
He is in Korea, and have access to MOBIS parts

It looks like what is needed is the "multifunction switch" from the 5.0. It's one assembly that includes the wiper and light stalks and on the 5.0, the light stalk includes the fog lught control). It doesn't appear that you can buy the just light stalk as it's not a detachable, separate piece (though the wiper stalk does detach). You have to remove the steering wheel to swap out this part so it requires special tools from what I can see - probably best to have a dealer do it.
