  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I noticed some information is out relating to the 2013 Genesis sedan. My wife is disappointed that the 2010 Genesis does not have full functionality in the passenger seat. There is no up and down feature. Does anyone know if this issue has been addressed in the new 2013 model year?

I would like to know too. I am the usual driver and I will not purchase a vehicle where my wife can not vertically adjust the seat in order to be as comfortably as in the car we presently have (LEXUS).

I hope the seats are also cooled...

You are not the only one that is disappointed in not having a fully
functioning power passenger seat, sometimes my wife drives the genny and i am in the passenger seat it gets uncomfortable for me
not being able to adjust the seat to my comfort level. Most of the time when she wants to drive, we either take our lexus, our jeep or my caddy. All have fully funtioning power passenger seats, they all also have ventilated passenger seats. Another option
that hyundai left out.

Sounds like a nice feature that was left out. Of course I start to wonder what the hell people did before power seats and adjustable lumbar support. Life must have been tough:rolleyes: Every car from the 1980's and earlier must have been terrible to drive more then 1 block.

You have no idea... believe it or not we actually had to roll up windows by hand ! If thats not enough we didnt have any way for the car to tell us we had a flat and air conditioning had freon.... aahhh the horror

Guys im sure hyundai is going to fix this and many more for 2014 model year just hang tight

Ppp

I've heard horror stories about non-power steering, am? Radios with only one speaker, door locks with buttons you had to push and pull, 240 air conditioning ( I'm told you rolled down 2 windows and drove over 40 mph), radio antennas you had to pull up and push down, drum brakes without power assist, tune ups every 5,000 miles, a thing called a "cerberater", oil bath Ir cleaners, no air backs, front seat belts only and everything was an option( gawd...even Corvette came with 3 speed stick and no posi-traction) all manners of atrocity and inconvenience!,

If you want Lexus features then by all means pay Lexus money. Back in the day the women rode in the pickup bed which is totally non adjustable. Thankfully the handle for the sliding back window is on the inside.

When my wife and I took an R-Spec for a test drive recently, my wife commented on the presence of a cigarette lighter. The salesman commented that Koreans are heavy smokers. In Korea, on the other hand, it is probably not important to give the passenger the same comfort features as the driver.

Unfortunately, my wife's negative impression on the passenger seat is keeping me from buying a black R-Spec. I had slowly talked myself into black instead of my preferred red, but if Mama's not happy.....................

The salesman called me Thursday to say they would sell a new 2012 R-Spec to me for $38,990. So close but so far.

Probably has to do with the fact that the USA Genesis sedan sells for about $15K less than it does in Korea, and they had to cut some things out of the USA version (air suspension being one the biggest differences). Hard to know for sure what the seats are like in the KDM version.

You should show your wife msitter's post above, and maybe she will just be happy to ride inside the cabin and quit complaining about the passenger seat.

Sorry, but I've been married to a good woman long enough to know that things are much, much better for me when things are good for her. I would have bought the car (and paid a couple of hundred $ more) if it had a passenger seat as good as in our $32,000, 2002, Ford Explorer with a V8 and shiftable 4WD.
