  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

For those wondering how much brighter the headlight LED surrounds are when running as DRL's versus parking light mode, I took an image of both and spot metered off of the LED surrounds to try to get roughly the same exposure for the lights. The difference is enormous.

For those into photography, the difference is over 4 stops (LED DRL was 1/6400, f2.8, ISO 100 while the Parking Light LED was 1/320, f2.8, ISO 100).

Also, for those wondering, the LED's drop back to the dimmer parking light brightness when the headlights are on.

Thanks for detailing this. So, is it the power supplied to the LED's or are the actual LED's different? If its a power supplied, got to be a way to pull this off.

I'm pretty sure it's just an intensity change - but it's too dark to check now. I'll look more closely next time I have the car out in daylight (likely not until next weekend :()

I just noticed that you had a 2015 and now have a 2016. Is there a story behind this?

All I can say is what you already said.

I was thinking the same thing. Did we miss something?
