  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 aftermarket brake pads

Other than at the AutoX, where windows are required to be down, I almost never roll down my windows. Around these parts, it's so freaking hot 1/2 the year anyway, my AC is just about always running. Brake noise doesn't bother me.

Brake dust, though, is a bit of a chore to deal with. It is why I prefer wheels that are easy to clean, because with good semi-metallic pads, frequent wheel cleaning is about the only downside to me. I also no longer armor-all my tires. Brake dust will stick to wet armor-all and turn the sidewall brown.

Hmm, interesting. I didn't know that.

Try some of this. Good stuff. It dries quickly and leaves a glossy finish.89011504-8118-4935-A0F0-B9E0A0A23F3B.webp

I've been trying to obtain front brake pads for my 2019 G70 3.3T sport w/ Brembo brakes for the last few weeks here in Canada but every compatible brake pad in this thread is sold out everywhere. The dealer quoted me $840 just for front pads, not gonna happen.

I have come across BREMBO P30108 Low-Metallic Front Pads on Rockauto and im wondering if these will fit? I know the shape/design is supposed to be 1001 but these do not specifically say.

Any help is much appreciated.

edit: I recently put Dynamic Friction 5000 Low Met in the rear and was hoping to get the same for the front, but they are on back order for several weeks and I need to get the front done before having a safety done in the next week.

Good luck.
Yeah, I'd try making pads out of concrete before I'd pay the Stealership $840. That's insane.

Mine took more than a month to arrive. Unless you are in a huge hurry, choose the right pad compound for your intended use and just wait for them.

Unfortunately my lease is coming up in exactly 30 days and I am buying it out and need to have a safety performed before then. It will not pass with the current pads or tires.

This car will not see any track or racing, it is only driven a few times a week, mostly city driving. I would rather my brakes not make any noise or dust but after reading through this entire thread, not many people go with ceramics because of the deposits and the shaking under braking issue. Genesis has already replaced my front rotors twice in 4 years and I don't want to go through that out of warranty.

If semi-metallics are the answer and these Brembo P30108 fit then I will pull the trigger. If I can go with another ceramic pad, say Akebono or Centric Posiquiet, and avoid the deposits, then I will look for those instead.

That Brembo part number appears to be for Stinger/G70 with the single piston (non Brembo) calipers.

Have you checked buybrakes. They show lots of pads available.

Unfortunately they don't ship to Canada.

Can we be sure any 1001 shape/style pad will fit? Because on rockauto they have about 30 pads that are 1001 shape, they just aren't listed under the Kia Stinger or Genesis G70 compatible parts.

amc - i suggest contacting Brembo tech support to ask about that P30108 pad. it states the pad is for an "Akebono" brake system, but maybe that is a red herring and they meant Brembo. even the Brembo website says Akebono so perhaps they are affiliated. the fact that the pad is listed for Dynamic and Sport trims makes me think it must be for Brembo Sport brakes, but it is best to confirm directly with Brembo. then you'd know if you can go with rockauto.com's Brembo P30108 pad for $77.98 CAD

^ decent pricing on partsavatar.ca. for the Brembo P30108 they list it at $107.26 CAD w/free shipping compared to rockauto at $77.98 CAD, but with shipping and rockauto 5% discount code their price comes to pretty much $100 on the dot. so within $7 CAD which is solid. nice to know there is an alternative for rockauto which has always been my go-to for any parts search - at least as a first stop.

Spoke with Brembo today. They weren't much help but did note the correct pads for the 3.3T Sport are "Either P30113N or P30113 but we are not stocking or selling them at the moment."

Rockauto has all these 1001 shape semi-metallic pads in stock. Has anyone tried any of these?

My dealership just quoted me $1,500 for pad replacement... I thanked them for their time and hung up.

EBC Bluestuff installed. I have 3weeks to bed in the new pads before the Track Day. EBC is very specific on how to do it, so I'm not taking any chances.

I took my time to scrub off the pad material transfer that was on the rotor surface. It actually wasn't all that bad and seemed to have gotten better since the last time I checked on them. Maybe it wasn't necessary, but power tool makes it fairly easy and quick, so why not?

This is before scrubbing:

This is after:

Note to self... use a rear exhaust pneumatic tool next time, so it doesn't spit oil on the rotor surface. Not big deal to clean up with brake cleaner spray, but still.

Good news, The Dynamic Friction 5000 series front pads I put on seem to be a solution working for me. It's only been about 15-30 miles but I noticed a difference immediately and the rotors are getting cleaner every time I drive the car. So far I would recommend these pads to someone looking for a cost effective solution.
Hey man, can you update us on these now that its been a few months. I'm leaning towards the DF 5000 fronts and rears just wanted to see how your experience has been with some more miles on them. Thanks in advance

Two days after EBC Bluestuff pads install, the pads are already seating well on the rotors. At about 100 miles into the new pads, all 4 rotors are pressed on fairly evenly across the wearing surfaces, with no major high-low bands visible. This means the stock pads, leaving materials deposits as they might, were actually wearing on the rotors quite evenly. If there are still major low spots on the rotor by 100 miles, I would take off that rotor to get turned by a shop, before the new pads start wearing unevenly to match the rotor. All in all, my rotors are in good shape to mate with the new pads, without resurfacing.

For about the first 50 miles or so, there was still a bit of the old grittiness (what a lot of G70/Stinger owners call vibration) under braking. But it went away fairly quickly, as I expected. Now it is just about imperceptibly smooth. So much for warped rotors. Boggles my mind how many good rotors were thrown away needlessly.

BTW, I can already tell brake dust is gonna be a lot more than with stock pads. Even with 100 very lightly driven road miles, there is already accumulated dust on the pads, which were pristine just 2 days ago. As some of us already know, this is the trade-off for performance-oriented semi-metallic pads. I'm okay with it.

Thanks for the update. Hope they do a great job for you at your upcoming track day.

I've been following this thread with great interest as I too have been suffering with so-called 'warped' rotors. in fact, I'm off to the dealership this week to have my 4th set of new rotors installed under warranty at only 62K kms. What surprises me is that I'm having issues with brake pad deposits on my 2019 Canadian-spec 6MT (with the Brembo brake package) that is supposedly outfitted with the Euro pads. Do you think it's possible that my car came equipped with the ceramic pads that are leading to all the problems outlined in this thread? Otherwise, I'm at a loss to explain why my car with the Euro pads is exhibiting the same problems as those with the ceramic pads.

Sorry to hear that. You're the first I've heard of to have that issue with the Euro pads. Is the vibration ONLY when braking? Are you sure it's not your tires? I recently developed a vibration that got worse when braking, but was slightly there all the time. It turned out the outer edge of my front tires, with only about 4k miles on them, were scalloped. I've got an alignment scheduled for next week, but rotating the tires (front to back, which you may not be able to do because of stagger) seems to have eliminated the vibration.
If you've been to the dealer before, is it possible that they replaced the pads at some point and didn't put one the Euro pads?
