My G70 is in the shop today getting its 10,000Km service. I was told that in addition to the oil and filter getting changed they plan to change the cabin filter.
My loaner car is a brand new G80. Same 3.3T engine and AWD as my G70 but the cars couldn't be more different.
I really like the powered open and close trunk on the G80 and there's definitely a ton more trunk space and noticeably more rear seat room. It took some searching to find the parking brake switch as it's not on the console like in the G70 but right above my left knee on the dash.
The multimedia display on the G80 is blended into the dash as opposed to it sticking out on the G70. I like how this looks on the G80 more but realistically it's 3-4 inches further away and there's parts of the right side of the touch screen that cannot be reached without moving forward out of the seat. I also miss that the display on the G70 that is slightly angled towards the driver making it a bit easier to see.
Realistically, I'd never consider owning a G80. The main thing that I fell in love with the G70 was how good of a sports sedan it was. The G80 just feels really heavy and even in sports mode doesn't inspire any confidence in the corners. The G80 definitely has a more luxurious interior but a big heavy car like this which is not sports oriented is not for me.
I've just gotten a text that my G70 is on it's way back and will be dropped off at my work in about an hour and the G80 picked up. Looking forward to the drive home again.
