  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Lease Comparisons and Discussion (USA)

Why is the lease incentive ($2500) so much better than buying? Am I at a disadvantage buying outright?

It is not necessarily better, depending on what your plans are. If you plan on keeping the car then buying it outright is probably the best thing to do. If you only plan on keeping it a 3 years then leasing is probably the best way to go.

You can also combine both, you can lease, get the lease cash and then buy out the lease if you have other financing. You can also purchase the car at the end of the lease. There is no one best way to do it since there are so many factors. When the time comes and you have definite numbers and a plan, or at least an idea, for the future of the car many on here will be glad to help and give their opinions.

I agree, take the lease cash and then buy out in a month. You can’t lose.

I guess the disadvantage are the leasing fees and the fact that PA sales taxes are 9% instead of 6% in a lease. I'm not sure how that plays out.

Plus you have to factor in the interest difference on the new financing/loss of income if you are paying with existing investments. You need to have actual numbers to know whether it makes sense or not. ;)

For a safe money comparison, CDs are currently paying 3%. The Genesis financing is 5 years at 1.9, so the 1.1% margin on $45K for 5 years is $1269. May as well take the cheap financing for as much as they will allow.

"Last night, I was able to get them down to $609/month with $500 down for a $48k G70.
Mind you, I have 6 payments remaining on my current lease @ 575/month. They were offering to pay those 6 payments and the dispo for a total of $3,872. I didn’t even get approved for conquest either.
Thats basically $502/mo with $500 down if I’m correct. Give them some more time and the leases will definitely be getting better."

Seems like some dealers are finally coming to their senses, that is a deal I'd definitely make on the spot. Was it 36/10?

Don't know, but I'd assume so

I was finally able to get in touch with a dealer and apparently I’m not able to custom build a vehicle and get it shipped to the U.S. However, they were able to locate the one I’m interested in which is the 3.3T Sport in Santiago Silver. I was considering leasing once I sell my Mercedes but she gave me a price of $854. I found this to be a little high and am curious what all of you think? I also don’t think she took into account the lease incentive I’ve read about on here.

Taxes included? RWD or AWD? MSRP? It seems too high to me.

Sounds high, I'd ask for a breakdown.

Taxes included. RWD for me as I’m stationed in the south. MSRP is $50,495 but discounted to $49,905.

With those numbers, 36/15k, 7% taxes, $2500 lease cash rebate, I get $739 monthly with Zero Down
