  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Lease Comparisons and Discussion (USA)

Dealers don't have to accept the pricing but most do. Never heard that they ask but best to ask r_spec. The certificates are for friends and he has a lot of them. ;)
R spec told me I am his best friend

Will do! Thanks again for the heads up.

Does anyone know if the lease cash is standard or is it different at each dealership?

So far on the two quotes I’ve received, one included $4k in rebates which I’m guessing was $3k lease cash and $1k competitor incentive. The other was written as $1k discount and $2.5k rebate.

I’m thinking I will continue to shop and see who will come with the best lease incentives, and then once agreed on that come in with Circle A.

My suggestion is if you are within $500 on a car you want from the published lease incentives pull the trigger.

Are the published lease incentives by dealership or manufacturer?

In my opinion you are doing the process backwards. You will first want to get your certificate and make sure your dealer will honor it. Once that is agreed upon then make sure they will give you the base Money Factor as well as all of the incentives that apply to you. Dealers do not have to honor Circle A pricing and even if they do, they do not have to pass along all Genesis incentives. Most of them seem to do but some will not. Most common seems to be them offering the lease cash/conquest but inflating the money factor.

As said before by manufacturer, it varies from models but it's nationwide.
I just found the lease cash of $4k on carsdirect but didn’t see on the manufacturer’s site.

Also see a military discount for Veterans which I could apply too for $500. Just hope I don’t deal with a dealership not willing to add incentives to Circle A!

That’s good advice. Part of me thought they may not appreciate me coming in with the certificate after having negotiated incentives. Additionally, most dealers probably aren’t willing to start with that.

I think being honest and up front is the best route. There are about 4 dealerships nearby that have the exact G70 I’m purchasing, so I have some options.

Why would a dealer not give you all the manufacturer incentives you qualify for (besides ones you can't double dip on, like Loyalty & Conquest)? Don't they the money back from Hyundai? Giving you everything you qualify for gives you the best price and makes you more likely to pull the trigger. Seems counter productive to hold incentives back...it shouldn't be a negotiation.

Now, selling price is a totally different story. Either get the Circle A or fight them on that.

I agree, doesn't make much sense for them to hold back on incentives, however as others have mentioned here, I can see them adjusting the FM to make up for the Circle A to some degree. I look forward to posting the deal I end up going with.

I think the best place to see all of the available incentives is autobytel. Just put on your zip code (not relevant for Genesis since their incentives are nationwide rather than regional like some manufactures) and select the engine/drive.

For the residual value and base money factor, Edmunds does a good job providing that for people.

Thanks! That Edmunds link worked out perfect as the first post on the page was an Atlanta zip code. Lease cash is shown at $2,250 though on the 36 month, so I guess the $4k I had quoted was pretty good after all.

Hopefully all dealers accepting Circle A are now giving the incentives but I think their motivation for doing that was for the buyer to not use the Circle A pricing so they can make more money on the deal. They are reimbursed from Genesis when someone uses Circle A and the sale counts towards goals but they may not make as much on the sale as they normally could.

We haven't heard about dealers not allowing incentives with Circle A in awhile, I think it had more to do with the G70 being new to market. Recently it has only been the inflation of the money factor.

Be careful, lease cash differs by engine/drive. $4k is for the 2.0, $2.5k for the 3.3t RWD and $3k for the 3.3t AWD.

Sincerely appreciate everyone's prompt replies and help on this.

I'm looking to reach out to r_spec however don't seem to be able to send a PM, can anyone guide me on how to do so?

You should have Start Conversation when you click on his name. Some have reported that they had to wait 24 hours after achieving their 16th post. If it doesn't work by tomorrow then use the Contact Us link below and let Sal know.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for the info, I will try that and if not, use the link mentioned. Look forward to reporting back on the deal.

It took me 48 hours to get the ability to pm. A very impatient 48 hours. Hang in there!
