  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 LED vs Stock Turn & Reverse Lights

Ordered the Oxilam indicator and reverse lights. Should be in today
Just installed the lights today! Super bright but so much nicer than the others

I left the hazards on for 15 minutes and no hyperflashing. Granted I tested it in a garage but I think in usual everyday driving situations it shouldn’t be an issues even on really hot days - 90+ days (fingers crossed)

How long did the whole thing take, if you don't mind me asking? I was going to do this tonight (I got my bulb last night.)

It didn’t take long at all once I got the light housing out! That took the longest but thanks to @Beefer’s advice I tapped the ‘screws’ (specifically the top 2) a few times and I was able to get it out. Once that was done it’s a cinch!

Just be careful to have one hand on the light so it doesn’t pop out and drop on the ground

Push down and twist.
Well... they’re in! Took me an hour. I’m clearly just a mortal when it comes to auto electrical.

The hardest part was a) popping the assemblies out, and b) that one top screw. Screw that one top screw!

Regardless, I bought OP’s bulb recommendations and they’re freaking fantastic. The turn signals are bright as hell... I’m gonna see see if they’re “too bright” by having someone I know follow behind me.

Thanks, OP! Mod #2 is in the books!

I like the turn signals a lot! I think the reverse lights are a little too bright for my taste

Installed the "Pickle Bulbs" and Sirius backup bulbs. Took a Sharpie and blacked out all but the two centre LED's on the end of the signal bulb to try and cut down the amount of light projecting directly back. Todd's instruction video was a great help and as others have noted, the most difficult part of the install was persuading the assemblies to release from the fender - in my case it required a gentle tap with a plastic headed mallet.

I bought and installed these.
OXILAM BA15S 7506 1156 LED Turn Signal Light Bulb with Build-in Load Resistor CANBUS Error Free 2200K Amber Yellow 2800LM for 1156A 1003 1141 P21W Bulb Replacement (2PCS)

They are most definitely too bright at night on my sports package (not even sure if the turn signal indicator cover is any darker or not). I’m really surprised others with even brighter bulbs feel as if it’s not too bright. It reminds me of the lifted trucks who threw HIDs in their fog lamps.

I’m thinking if I can cover the front project (see link) it may be less blinding. I’ve seen a suggestion of sanding that lens. Maybe nail polish, sharpie, or tape? Has anyone any experience with lowering the lumen output of LEDs and not affecting the color or heat output?

Just compared the turn signal indicator and reverse light cover to a non-sport package and they look the same to me - neither seems tinted.

It's only the red portion of the taillight that is darker on the sport trim. Even so, it's only marginally darker. The clear lense housing the reverse and turn signal is identical between sport and non sport, so reverse and turn signals will be the same.

For the Canadians here, I ordered these:

They appear to be very similar to the AliExpress ones seen elsewhere on this thread.

I just installed them and they seem to work perfectly. I ran them for 5min with the hazards on. No hyperflash and no warnings. They are much brighter than stock but not as blinding as the Lasfit ones based on what I've seen in the vids no this thread. They perform very much like the ones Mirza777 installed:

$23CAD and 1day Prime shipping. Can't go wrong.

^ thanks Pickle! did you also install reverse lights? if so, which ones?

Yeah but I want red LEDs.

^ just ordered the same setup yesterday. looking forward to ditching those ol' incandescent bulbs.

Looks like there's a few of us with the same setup.
