  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

What about Nevada? I remember several weeks back...the PR guy told me GA and NV were one of the first.

I did list Nevada? They are getting just a few cars that were used in car shows.

Remember...there are a few hold ups...

1. Dealers have to come to an agreement with Genesis USA. Separate building, etc, etc.
2. Dealers need to register with DMV of their respective State. Not sure what's involved with that.
3. Each dealer needs a Franchising License within their respective State to sell.

So...unless dealers have all that done...they cannot sell. They may have cars allocated...but they won't get them. So in my case...the 2 Richmond, VA dealers don't even have their franchising licenses. WTF they were waiting for...who knows? That is pure stupidity and negligence by the dealer owner.

So...you may have one dealer selling them right now. Another dealer 10 miles away that fubar'd their paperwork...and might not sell for months.
Yeah, I'm just extremely disappointed with the trickle of a handful of dealers from just 6 states, none of which are anywhere near me.

I have to pessimistically laugh at this post now. Talk about cart before the horse.Summer.webp

I'm not sure if that is the case or not. They are sponsoring MNF and have some advertisements out. I think people know about it but whether they are interested in it is another thing. Those that really are come here or look for information on it elsewhere. There may be some who are just lukewarm, hit the Genesis site and see coming soon and stop there.

Not saying they shouldn't have more info on the site in regards to the 2019 models as well as the dealer situation/availability. It is a new car and a fairly new brand, takes awhile to generate interest.
Well, all I know is barely anyone that I talk to even knows what a Genesis is lol. So I don't think they're doing a very good job. But like you said, if you go to their website, you wouldn't even really think it's out unless you know better.

I agree with that, people in general don’t even realize Genesis is a car brand. When seen on the street many think the are Chrysler’s due to the wings. I was just referring to them making an effort by the sponsorship and advertising. I think at this point those efforts are to try and establish some brand recognition. My guess is it may take years to do that. Then again, it may take years to roll out the 2019s at the rate they are going.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
6% brand recognition according to my sales guy

What I don't understand is with the car on sale in the US why doesn't the configurator on the web site work? You think they would know the pricing for the build your own option by now!

Just test drove the 3.3 at Henderson genesis. Not too shabby...definitely high quality and I love the power. The backseats are definitely small and no one over 6 foot would fit back there too comfortably at all. The one thing I really can’t complain about has been the service and support from their team. That alone makes me want to buy the car over anything else. Hope everyone else’s dealerships get the memo, no Hyundai experience here haha

Did you get to push it? Have you driven an S4/5 or AMG? For comparison.

I drove in heavy traffic so I didn’t get to go 3/4 power for more than 3 seconds at a time and none at freeway speeds. I also only had one good corner I could take in that time. So no, I didn’t push it like I would actually daily drive it (also not a good idea to scare your sales guy haha). However the small bit I did get to do, it felt substantial. The closest comparison I have is my current car, modded to a dyno reading of almost 300whp/300 ftlbs. This car felt like mine does from 3-4K rpm except from there mine stops and this did not. It also felt under stressed, and only 3/4 throttle with AC on it still was satisfyingly fast. I actually wouldn’t feel safe going WOT unless I had the space and a better feel for the car. That one corner, the car just stuck with no sliding and no squealing but with only one good turn, I can’t give you good feedback

I’m hoping to have the car within the next couple weeks since I’ve decided on color and trim. Just gotta get one of those suckas from port to Vegas. Once I do I’ll start a new thread with a full review and hopefully I can provide some insight the cars mags and YouTube reviewers can’t. For those people still cross shopping and wondering what it’s really like when you own it (y)

I had my test drive for over 24 hours...so I had a lot of fun with it. Put it through all it’s paces!!

What do you think about the transmission? Seemed a little slow to kick down if you don’t have the paddles goin and I’m pretty sure I had it in sport mode

Thanks for the info joschneider. [I've been lurking for a few months now, but this is my first post!] For my needs, the rear seat legroom is just about the only negative on the G70. My wife and I have a minivan for a 3rd car for when we go on trips, and really need to haul the whole family around. But, I do use my daily driver sedan for short trips to bring the kids home from school/camp/etc.

When you wrote "no one over 6 foot," are you setting the driver's seat for someone at 6 foot? And your statement would imply that someone around 6-foot could have a kid around 5-5 sit behind them? (The kid doesn't need to be comfortable, just need to know if it's do-able. :giggle: )
