  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

The base 3.3t trim seems fantastic! LSD is standard with NO sunroof! Much better configuration of options than the canadian trims imo

Agree with 50jae. I’ve never been a fan of sunroofs. Also, the diamond quilted seats with the red or gray stitching don’t appeal to me. Basically, give me a G70 with a classy G80 interior and I’m good.

looks like no highway driving assist for us here in america

Sure it is...Lane Keep Assist clearly stated.
Lane keep assist is different compared to highway driving assist. Highway driving assist is made for long distance hands free driving

You’re wrong...kind of.

Highway Driving Assist is a combination of Lane Keep Assist...and...Speed/Distance Management.

G70 has both...therefore Highway Driving Assist.

"Highway Driving Assist" - It's been seen in online videos from Korea that a G70 can go on the highway for minutes without hands on the wheel. It was reported at the end of last year that the US would not get the highest level of driver assist. I suspect that US models will have Lane Keep Assist, but require detection of driver hands on the wheel every few seconds, similar to other LKA systems commonly available in other mainstream US cars.

Sport model with manual - If you look at the CA model specs, it has the high end interior, with some of the driver assist features removed, so it's a bit of an outlier that does not align with the "standard features" spec sheet. Could be similar situation in US model. I would speculate that US spec is identical to CA spec for cost optimization purposes since it is probably expected to be a low volume model in both markets.

We'll know for sure soon enough.

It is posted all over the place that the USA car has HDA.

We are a long way from a full highway Driving Assist or Auto Pilot. Cadillac has one for limited use, Tesla has one mis-used and has resulted in deaths. . The lawyers may have made the decision to nix it int he US for now.
The other factor is it is the G70. Quite often this type of technology starts out on top models and filters down after a year or two. Maybe it will be on the revamped G90?

10.5 cubic foot trunk space? I hope that's a typo, because that's really small.

The Stinger is selling around 1500 units a month in USA. Kia have a huge cash lease incentive on the Stinger ($6000 and more depending on the trim) but Genesis has a different way of thinking
That kind of lease incentive certainly makes me look more strongly at the Stinger vs G70, assuming the stupid crap (regional market surcharge? WTF!) I'm seeing dealers pack onto the price can be gotten rid of.

Well, I'm glad to see that the US version of the G70 won't be missing any of the features like the US version of the Stinger. Now we just need to know when, how much and what dealers. Imagine the excitement here on the boards when the US website gets updated with a "build" tool!

Price. What we need to know now are the G70 USA different trim prices.

It doesn't. HDA won't come to North America until later.

I think because of legal reasons...they may not advertise HDA, etc.

But this is what the G70 in the USA does come with...

· Forward Collision Avoidance with Pedestrian Detection
· Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go
· Lane Keep Assist
· Driver Attention Warning
· Blind-Spot Collision Warning with Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning

To add...this is Genesis' definition of HDA...which (again) corresponds to the above components...

Highway driving assist (HDA)
An automated system that helps control the speed of the car and keep the vehicle in the lane while driving on the highway by using comprehensive information such as distance from the car ahead, lanes, and navigation-based speed limit, eliminating the need to step on the brakes or the accelerator during long distance travel or while driving through congestion.
That is as close to HDA as you can get...by definition of HDA. Sure there is HDA3 that adds to the above...but I don't think anyone has that yet.

So...as you can see...Genesis has to be careful (legal) to not advertise HDA in the USA. BUT...all the components are there.

I notice there is no real mention of hands free. The nav based speed is a new feature. I wonder if you can set it for +10 or so? Other than the Nav based speed it is little more than the present cruise combined with LKA. More marketing than engineering.

In the Chicago area you would need an option for +20 on the navigation based speed. Posted speed limits are 65 and most cars are cruising at 80 to 85.

I'm surprised by how much interior cabin height you lose by going with the sunroof. Honestly I want a sunroof for this car, but, I am beginning to rethink that, especially if it comes down to me bumping my head on the headliner.

Hey folks...just communicated with someone that was at the NH event yesterday.

Genesis USA is really holding these folks to some serious promises.

Nobody can release ANY driving impressions until Monday (July 16). Wonder if that is the official release of pricing, availability, etc.

Anyhoo...they did say pricing for the model range will be between $34k USD and $50k USD...approx. Hmmm...I will be in utter shock if it comes under my range topping guess at $54.6k USD.

That is all for now.
