This. The Stinger is priced too high in my opinion which is why people are getting huge discounts on them. No one pays MSRP from what it seems. Should just go to Stinger forum and look at what people are paying.

I was at my local Kia dealer yesterday they had a gt2 marked up to 57k I laughed and told them that three hours away they are selling for 47k they didn't know what to do. Lol dealers such a mess

September 6th is when football season kicks off. Since Genesis is the official car, they may be aiming for that date.

If not, IMO someone really deserves to be fired for not setting expectations well. Genesis has a new car (derivative model!). They’re not reinventing the whole company...they’re trying to change their proverbial last mile delivery pipeline. Last mile hits delivery and additional dealer profit, but base price must be well known by now.

When I build my next car company...robble robble...arf...mumble...mfkers, get it together...looks bad and stupid from the outside. Don’t give us the chance to think the problem goes any deeper!

Monday morning and Genesis USA PR news site is down again. Seems to be happening a lot lately. No real reason to believe they're prepping G70 news, but when my refresh button doesn't work, I get a little excited! Then inevitably let down assuming history repeats itself...

Amen to that. It has dragged on much longer than it should have and I think it can't help Genesis that the car will show up in proximity to the release of many of its competitors' 2019 models. On the up-side, that may mean we'll be able to get more directly comparative information for how the Genesis stacks up against those competitors. I do think the G70 will be a really good car but it does have some stiff competition from other makers who are more strongly established. Price may be its big advantage but as of now, that's not assured.

While I agree with you that the pricing is not assured, there have been firm estimates by the auto press (as everyone here knows) that it would top out around $50K; presumably this estimate came directly from Genesis. When we heard that, it was encouraging and some may have waited for the car for this reason rather than going for the competition. Now, if for some reason after all these weeks the top spec car is closer to $55K (as some have speculated), then I think MANY will be ticked off by the fact that we were mislead and potentially putting off other purchases. This could have a huge backlash against the Genesis brand IMO; appearing that they just don't know what they're doing in their communication with the press.

That said, my money says we'll all be happy we waited and that Genesis will come through with a release that matches our expectations pricewise; albeit later than we wanted.

here in California, my Hyundai/formally Genesis dealer tells me that there are no Geneses coming into California for quite a time, something about some sort of regulation hassle, and in addition, he does not know what sort of showroom modifications will be needed at his dealership to sell.

So, when do I get my G70?

Some manufacturers make it eaiser by making all or some models to Calif standards in all 50 states. Here is an example window sticker for a G80 from a Genesis dealer in Nevada that says the car is “certified to meet emissuon requirements in all 50 states.”

That said, the Calif. dealers would go berserk if AZ and NV started selling before them...

I really feel you for guys in the US. When you are about to get a new car, most people look forward to enjoying it in the summer (assuming you have multiple seasons...) and that is going to be missed for most people. I really thought there would be a solid date by now.

My G70 just hit 9,000km at lunch... And this was my first time driving it in 2.5 weeks!!

I basically told them that if they want to keep me as a potential buyer...they need to give me something. Anything. I might be one person...but my message was pretty clear that I represent a large group of aggravated people waiting on this car.

If I do not get a reply...or a reply without some valuable info...I am done. I figure Labor Day weekend is coming...end of summer...and there are deals to be had. I will be trolling Audi dealer lots...and hope for the best.

I basically told them that if they want to keep me as a potential buyer...they need to give me something. Anything. I might be one person...but my message was pretty clear that I represent a large group of aggravated people waiting on this car.

Well...that is all in the open at this point. I have also spoken to them all...except Edwin...and the entire mess was discussed. And I told them that I understand that...and things happen...but it is getting carried away. Essentially I told them they are f'ing up. I am sure they know that...and it's discussed in their board room meetings. But coming from the end consumer might hit a little harder. I'm not kissing their asses. I told them Audi and BMW were calling my name. That's gotta sting

Thanks for this. FWIW my dealer in NOVA who claims to be the first authorized and approved dealer in the country has zero updates as of today at 3pm est. Smfh.
