  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

The Stinger is selling around 1500 units a month in USA. Kia have a huge cash lease incentive on the Stinger ($6000 and more depending on the trim) but Genesis has a different way of thinking, they were selling around the same amount of G80 (around 1500 monthly) as the Stinger but now they are offering just $1500 cash lease and the sells plummet to 786 in April, 840 in May and just 642 in June. If the continue with these sales strategy with the G70. I won't see any good future for Genesis in USA.

I totally agree. I guess we have to wait and see though...who knows what pricing will be and what (if any) incentives become available.

Genesis USA is not starting off very well with their very first vehicle...which is supposed to put them on the map (so they say). I say that with reference to the other 2 cars being carry-overs from the H brand.

Last press release is up, and it's a long one. No pricing or additional info on availability, but outlines all the trims.

Note the 2 extra trims for USA market...limited time at launch.

Also...the car has been released to the press in Cape Neddick, Maine today. Anybody on here from that area?

That's good to know. There is no 3M package yet for this car but that will change once it's offered in the States.

Am I reading this correctly and the 2.0T sport adds on to the features that the elite and prestige has, meaning it will come with ventilated seats, qi wireless charging, and surround view monitor???

If that is correct, then a BIG round of applause needs to be given to genesis for not stripping down the car to its base level for manual transmission!

Can't wait for that!

Definitely sounds like it and I agree that is good news. Sounds like you guys are getting close!

I presume it was an oversight (??), but sport suspension is not mentioned for 2.0T trims...

^ you'll need to wait to see actual product brochure spec sheets. that press release is not definitive, and i saw a lot of misinformation or unclear spec references in CAD until official spec sheets were available.

what is for sure is that the 2.0T Sport 6MT is NOT a stripped down base model. rather, it is the most driver and performance oriented trim (6MT only) - and lightest. in CAD, it is mid-level in the 2.0T range, although the focus is on performance and mechanical options as adders and offsets the cost (and weight penalty) by giving up some niceties. it does give up several luxury and tech features in the CAD market. ventilated seats being a big one, for me.

clearly the US market will get an 8AT versions of the RMD 2.0T Sport which differs from CAD, so perhaps other trim changes are possible as well.

While I would like to some great deals on the G70 too, I highly doubt there will be any. I expect they're going to have horrible lease deals for the first couple of months since it is a brand new car. Plus, add to the fact that there is limited distribution because of the dealer network issues, those dealers that do have the cars will jack their prices up. Maybe even as much as 10K just like the Stinger when it first came out. If there are any deals, it will be springtime before they show up. When the car is finally released, I bet there are better deals on the Stingers to keep volume moving. But I wonder what the numbers look like for buying sports sedans in the fall/winter?

Wait they're knocking 10k (or were) off the MSRP for stingers?!

I test drove a Stinger yesterday. Not only did the dealer have $700 of junk options on the car, they also had a $1500 "market adjustment" added on too. No wonder Stingers aren't selling if dealers are doing that. It will kill G70 sales too.

Top spec feels like a big nothingburger after all this time...I have numbers with decimal places...just not the ones I wanted (price).

Couple of thoughts......

Its is GREAT to see all of the options (wireless charging, rear heated seats, 360 camera, microfiber headliner, etc.) stay on for the US model. I am looking at you Kia.........

What in the world is a "Front passenger seat walk-in device" ?!?!

Lastly, cargo capacity 10.5 cu ft...........yikes...........that is Cadillac ATS small.

Usually that exists in a coupe...with a "back seat". When the passenger wants to get in the back seat...the passenger seat has a mechanism to move forward...manual or automated, etc.

Did they just slip up ?!?!!? And reveal that a G70 Coupe is coming? LOL...yeah right.

So maybe the controls on the upper portion of the bolster on the front passenger seat that can be seen in the picture below? Allowing the driver or a rear passenger control over the front passenger seat while also seated.

Interesting. The Stinger has the same controls in some ROW markets but it did not make it to the US.

Cool...I love freaking with my passed out drunk passengers.

Great to read about these US trims! Still not much indication which way they'll go with wheels. Dynamic and Sport 2.0 trims get 19" wheels, but no indication whether they'll be black or polished alum or number of spokes. Prestige 2.0 gets 18" wheels; Canada Prestige has 19" wheels. Looks like all 3.3 trims get 19" wheels; that seems odd to me as some might prefer 18's on the 3.3T. Of the 2.0 trims, Dynamic really seems more like an option package having only LSD and 19" wheels. Seems encouraging that the Prestige 3.3 might have the cool 10-spoke polished alum wheels and save the black ones for Sport only!

Looking at all the trims, while keeping similar names used in Canada, the trim levels are quite different. More choices=Good!
