  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

For all you NV peeps...

OMG, what a typical horrid car dealer commercial. They must all use the same discount ad agency.

Yeah...sorry about that guys. I saw the intro...and thought they had the car and were going to talk about it. Not this nonsense.

I would delete the post if I could :(

haha, that was awesome. I especially liked how she said "it's fun to have both of you at once" lol

Also, I the guy on the right is the typical sales guy "a lease allows you to get a higher end vehicle at a more affordable price point because you are only taking a loan on a portion of the vehicle". They just care about putting you in the most expensive vehicle possible for your monthly payment. It is like if someone came in and said "I want to spend $20K on a Civic on a 4 year loan", the sales guy will say "why drive a Civic when you can drive an Accord for the same monthly payment?" Consumer is like, oh wow, and then buys more car than they need.

LOL...what about when he mentions the manual stick. She throws her arms and screams. Hmmm...she likes the power of a stick shift. What's her name again?

lol

That reminds me, a few years ago, this girl I worked with was telling everyone about her new car and she was very proud (which I get). She then mentioned that it was also the first time in her life she has owned a manual car. I then stopped to to say, you bought a manual car now??!? (she was about 30ish) And she said "yeah, but I haven't tried it yet". To which I said "you haven't driven your new car yet?" and she said "well yeah, but I haven't tried the manual". Then the light finally went on for me and I said "oh, so you bought an automatic that you can select the gears" and she replied with "NO, I bought a manual". I walked away as she seemed even more dumb than usual. I checked her car after work and it was an auto. Some people lol

Hahahaha. Perhaps she was saying that she bought a user manual...LOL...it didn't come with one. Oh I'm dying over here.

Rick Case has 2 Genesis dealers at 20 miles distance each other. I would say it's one of the biggets Genesis dealers in Florida. The one in Davie has 28 G80 in stock and the other in Plantation has 14. I would not hesitate to say that they will be getting the G70 in the next few days.

According to their web site those are left over 2018's.

More importantly, the consumer ends up in a bad situation. Large scale, it could be similar to the housing market burst back in what, 2007/2008? Probably explains why I see tons of mid 40 year olds driving around $65k Tahoe's, Land Rovers, Audi's, BMW's, Escalades (closer to $100k), etc. If the wife is driving that, do you really think the husband is in a $20k commuter? Rough math would be $2000+ in payments, insurance, fuel, and preventative maintenance. Unless everyone around me makes $250k a year. I don't buy it. Property taxes are some of the highest in the country (Chicago suburbs).

Just received a reply from Kevin Smith regarding the configuration tool for the G70, obviously the Pricing Announcement is old news here:

That makes no sense at all. How is this not done 6 months ago and they are just waiting to press the button?

Probably because the morons couldn't figure out anything besides the name of the vehicle for USA sales. Hard to put anything in a website if you don't know trims names, what's in them, and pricing.

Sure, you could base it off of Canadian trims, but as we've seen, quite a bit can change from CA to USA.

Reminds me of the Mk7.5 GTI on VWoA's website. They didn't update their site until the cars were already out and you couldn't "build" a 2018 Mk7.5 until I want to say mid April; they still had the 2017's up.

For fun I called Genesis again today and asked for the status the G70 and its availability in CA, AZ and NV.
No news for CA, AZ or NV.
4 GA dealers have cars but can't sell until November?
National rollout in November.

Who knows what the truth actually is.

This is what the GM from Alexandria told me today.

I posted earlier that he’s getting 11 cars...no date.

He now knows his date...2 weeks.

He is also able to check nationwide who got allocations like he did. He says nobody has cars. They got the allocation promises.

But...remember I also posted that 3 other VA dealers were supposed to get cars this week (like Alexandria)? None of them show up in the nationwide list. Only his.

So the Genesis rep that called me is full of shit. Or rather...the person that provided the info to him is.

The wait must goes on. Is that a Queen song? ;)

Called two different dealers in the Seattle area, feedback is: November is the soonest they'll have inventory in stock.

I never said they were new 2019 models. Everybody knows Genesis stopped delivering cars a couple of months ago. When I mentioned the number of cars they have in stock i to have an idea of the volume of sales of that dealer. Many Genesis dealers does not have any car in stock today.
