  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

I emailed with Burns this morning because I live about 45 minutes away. They are allowing test drives starting at 1pm today. They will not produce pricing, they will not negotiate and they will not honor Hyundai circle pricing(which I have and I thought they had no choice and it's generally at least 5K off MSRP). I emailed them back and said thank you for the information, I will wait until there are more cars available and they aren't selling. Even though the car looks great, I think it will be a tough sell in the market. It's the same issue Kia has with the Stinger. Why buy that when you can buy the name with all the swagger?

I would not expect a dealer selling the first G70s to negotiate price.

As for your "tough sell" comment, most forum members are obviously not married to the established marques. It remains to be seen how the marketplace will respond to the quality/value/etc. proposition offered by the G70.

True but they are a tremendously small percentage of the marketplace. The members here are more excited about the G70, and Genesis in general, than the average consumer. Unfortunately it will take quite awhile until Genesis is known for more than an initial value. As you can see with the dismal residual values with the G80 and G90, the general marketplace does not see the value in the long term. I do not have a Genesis but from everything I read, that perception is probably incorrect but it is what it is right now.

Thank you. I’m in California, so I won’t be able to test drive today 😀. As a current Hyundai owner (I currently have 2) may I inquire regarding the “Hyundai circle pricing” as it could apply to me?

Wow, so they are going to add insult to injury and not budge on pricing? Genesis is looking worse and worse to me.

That attitude will hurt them in the long run, especially when the G70 starts rolling out in multiple locations. Just because the US has had these issues doesn’t mean the plant in Ulsan, Korea hasn’t been making them.

My Hyundai, now also Genesis dealer, has always been very reasonable to work with. Thankfully not all car dealers are a**h**es.

Hyundai circle pricing is a deal that the company I work for has with Hyundai. It's an employee benefit. It usually reduces the price around $5K from MSRP then you get any additional incentives like loyalty bonus or cash back on top of it. It's generally a good deal. The only thing you have to negotiate is your trade.

You know...I am thinking the same. We have all been waiting for what feels like an eternity. But...if dealers around me (call it a 2 hour drive radius) give me attitude...won't budge on pricing...or lease rates are brutal...I will simply have to go elsewhere. I mean...as much as I love this car and want it...my money is very precious to me.

Ok...so it's per employer, etc. We have something like that at work as well. Costco Auto Program might be comparable.

that's correct. It's a better deal than costco, but costco might get you close. I have costco and I found it to be 1-2 grand higher.

won't budge on pricing.

For the first month or so I wouldn't expect them to budge at all, they may even add a market adjustment premium to the price like other dealers do. Once what is anticipated to be an initial buying surge is over, then the pricing should become more normal.

That's how I feel. I'm in no rush to get a car, but I am interested in the g70, Stinger and some other vehicles. If they are impossible to work with, I'll just move on.

They must be hoping to make some of those lucrative deals that somebody posted about a few days ago. No thanks. I like the car but I'm not desperate or stupid. Hopefully they aren't all like that.

I have tried to contact the Alexandria dealership and the Chantilly dealership all week, and they have ghosted me. Normally I'm able to text the Chantilly dealership and they will immediately answer. Nothing, nada, zip. And usually if I go in through their website, I have sales people on me like white on rice...haven't heard a dang word. I'm about at the end of my rope. Sold my BMW in June in anticipation. Driving an old Ford Explorer right now...getting itchy ass for a new car. Audi A5 is looking good right now.

I thought it was crazy they wouldn't even email me the prices on the car. Yeah, I want to drive 45 minutes to test drive the car for you to just try and stiff me on the price, whatever.

You are taking the word of one dealer out of 400 at introduction? Be patient and don't jump to conclusions yet.

Genesis has never stated that.
If you look in the 3.3T Advanced section of the pricing and trim press release, you see the following:

· 19-inch alloy wheels with Michelin PS4 summer tires (F P225/40R19, R P255/35R19); all-season tires for AWD models

This was also stated in the other trim spec that was released months ago. Since this is the lowest 3.3T trim, I assumed it would apply to all 3.3T trims. I guess I expected they'd have all season tires to fit the 19" wheels, but apparently they're putting 18's on the AWD models. I can empathize with anyone who's disappointed by this. Personally, I'm getting the RWD, so it doesn't really matter.

But it also stated this:

G70 Advanced 3.3T AWD: $45,750

Includes all above-referenced G70 Advanced 3.3T RWD content plus:

· HTRAC® AWD System
· Heated steering wheel
· 18-inch alloy wheels & all-season tires (F & R P225/45R18)

BTW I'm also getting the RWD so it doesn't matter to me either.

If nothing else we do know the AWD Sport does include the 19's based on the red Sport pictured on cars.com with the HTRAC logo on the trunk lid.
