  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

I really hate how they’re trying to charge over sticker price so I’m starting to consider other alternatives so what’s anyone’s opinion on a Acura Tlx fully loaded?
Have we found out if NJ is charging over sticker?

Unfortunately, the dealers are independent and Genesis has nothing to do with it. I doubt it will last very long but yes, it sucks. I don't see why anyone would pay it, but evidently people do. Honda dealers got away with in years ago too.

Not all dealers are. So far only Alexandria.

It was only on one car, wasn't it? Or are they charging a premium on others now?
The guy made it sound like it was the Design Edition and the Dynamic Edition, but I had stopped listening to him after he showed me the final price.

Just checked their inventory, all cars are priced at MSRP except for the Dynamic Edition. Which of course was the one you were looking at.

Yep :( total assholes. And it's still a nasty Hyundai dealership in congested Alexandria...a real bitch to get to. Nothing in there was Genesis quality...I hope other dealerships in the area get their shit together.

I heard back from the guy at Safford yesterday. He said he didn't have any more information but wanted to make sure I knew I wasn't being ignored.

I have a 2018 A-SPEC and there is a lot to like. Its quite, comfortable, more athletic than you might think, and packed with safety features most of which can be turned off. (ie lane keep assist or the ever annoying proximity sensors)
I think of it as a sportier AWD version of a Lexus ES.
However it has 1 huge flaw.
These cars have a weird vibration throughout the cabin between 70-80 MPH. I wont say 100% of them have this flaw but there are at least 30 members on the Acura forum that experience the same thing and no one has found a fix for it yet. Tires replaced, road force balancing, drive shaft replaced, engine and transmission mounts replaced, among other things and no definitive fix. Couple members are trying to do lemon law on it. I would not recommend anyone buy a 2015+ TLX because of this.

Funny how Safford keeps up with you. They never contacted me again after the G80 Sport debacle. But then again, it's a transient business and these sales people come and go.

Safford is a very nice dealership with Genesis branding...but the one that is selling them is 100% Hyundai, w/ zero Genesis branding.

Especially since I'm almost 1,700 miles away so the chance for a sale is pretty close to zero although the guy did say he would pick me up at the airport and take me to the dealership. I also got an email from the General Manger checking in to make sure the salesman is answering all of my questions. Sounds like they will be a decent dealership to deal with, if only they could get some cars.

I have tried to like Acura vehicles. I have gone in several times to drive them, having read glowing reviews and very time I have come away unimpressed. The controls all feel like they are lifted right from the Civic or CRV. Which are fine for those vehicles, but feel and look sub-standard for higher end.
The sales people are the worst! Trying to get any info out of them other than when you can come in and lay down for their finance office is impossible! I tried 5 different dealerships in OH and they don't return calls, emails or texts. I couldn't even get the to follow up after test drives! You can also forget trying to get anything number wise from them other than MSRP or prices from Acura's website.

Vehicles (TLX, RDX) were disappointing. The sales people were insulting and disinterested. Sad.

Scrappy & Terdback,
Funny you should mention Honda, uh Acura. I just 'built' both a TLX & a RLX. With a decent discount the RLX might end up about $5K more than the G70. and the TLX is definitely less. I might add them to my present shopping list of G70, S4, S5, and new BMW 340, (the G20 model). The problem with the new G20 is that it is 2" bigger than my 340 that is coming off lease, and I like smaller (but still sporty/luxury cars). It looks like the November SF Auto Show will see me seriously cross shopping.

Totally OT, but my own personal baggage: seeing the "G20" reference for the new BMW takes me back to the two Infiniti G20s I owned for a total of 16 years ('94 Touring + '02 Sport), the latter of which I sold only 2.5 years ago. #theoriginal

Bald Eagle, I am with you preferring smaller sport-luxury cars--everything seems to trend bigger; we are left with few appealing options. While FWD-based, I wish the A3 were sold in the U.S. with manual transmission and/or that BMW would sell the 1-series sedan in the States.
[Also--my garage is very small, so the smaller the car, the more room it seems like I have!]

I just put a deposit on a brand new red G70 Dynamic Edition AWD from Burns in NJ. They do not add on anything to MSRP pricing. Their prices are sticker, so if you want a deal right now, it is probably not the right time for you. I want my garage space back for the winter time...so need to get this car to kick out my husband :) My experience just over the phone with them has been a pleasure. The car isn't there yet, but I will be driving up there as soon as they get it. I am happy that the a-holes at Alexandria did that to me b/c I would have been sitting here pissed that I didn't hold out for an AWD w/ heated steering. I'm getting the souped up trim which is probably too much for me as I am not taking it on the track, but the torque and the fastness of how it went from 0-60 literally made me laugh out loud (in a good way). I loved that feeling of taking off. And the diamond pattern black seats with red stitching was really beautiful. I will post pics the minute I get it. (approx 2 weeks)

I told Linda at Burns that I'd give a should out...Should you want to purchase one from there, her name is Linda Levins...856-396-6992. They also seem to be following the customer service we were promised by Genesis. You go through a concierge person (Linda), then you get a "Genesis Champion"...they so far have been turnkey. I wish I lived closer to them so they can be my dealer, but alas...hoping somebody in VA gets their act together.

I ended up getting more car for less by telling Alexandria to shove it. (BTW, last I checked it's still on their website hahahahaha)

I can sleep now... but time for wine first

Congratulations! I'm sure you are going to love it and it all worked out in the end.
