  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Yes, there was one at Alexandria and one at Burns but I believe they both sold. I never got to see it in person.
{edit} I think Alexandria was getting one, but it hasn't appeared.
Huh interesting that Green is such a gorgeous color.

Correct. 400 of the design and dynamic...each. 800 total.
Do you think there will be new editions for the 2020 MY or is there a possibility of them continuing the Editions??

Like everyone here I’ve patiently been waiting for the G70 and Glassman in Southfield, MI received a large shipment. After repeated attempts at getting their best price with incentives (that they offer on every other car) they finally told me it’s MSRP on all. I was interested in the Dynamic they had available.

I think the long wait and the firm MSRP has soured me on the car. I was also looking at the Audi S4 and the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport and I found a dealer that will give me $11,000 off MSRP on a brand new 2018 Red Sport with their best price plus incentives. I don’t think I can pass it up for $50,000 out the door compared to the G70 at $56,000. Living in Michigan I’d quickly have to spring for a second set of tires as well for an added expense.

With that being said I wish you all the best of luck and hope you enjoy your eventual G70 purchase. I’ll maybe get one on the next go-around.

Do NOT do the Infinity. Trust me. Read up on it...you’ll regret it.

The only real complaint I’ve heard is the Direct Adaptive Steering (drive by wire) doesn’t give great feedback but the vehicle I’m interested in doesn’t have it. Do you have any specific reasons why it would be a regretful purchase?

Transmission...and interior electronics very outdated. Other stuff but I forgot now.

What do you drive now? Could get the $1k competitive incentive.

Perhaps others could chime in.

I’d hate to see you get something you’d regret. Big savings...sure.

Why is the G70 that much. Doesn’t seem right.

Friend of mine got rid of his when the second tranny started to go. Our of warranty at 70,000 miles too. Forget the cost but quite high.

A quote from US News and World Report: "You should probably skip the Q50 in favor of its many higher-ranked and similarly priced competitors. The BMW 3 Series' starting price is close to the Q50’s, and it has sportier performance and a nicer interior. The Audi A4 is a bit more expensive than the Q50, but it bests the Infiniti in almost every category. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class costs a lot more than the Q50, but it's also a better-rounded vehicle than the Infiniti. It’s hard to justify buying the Q50 when there are so many better options out there."

Even dealerships that have them, the cars are just trickling in. Im close to changing the color/trim I want just so I can get the car because apparently a black on black advanced doesnt exist in the states yet. My dealership and sales dude is really helpful, but they cant do anything about the cars coming in. Genesis is really continuing to screw the pooch on this one. Im cross shopping against a Golf R and going to test drive on this weekend. Might pull me away from the G70 knowing I can at least buy that one off the lot and save close to 5G

Although we haven't got a configuerator, if someone had time (I don't) they coudl start matching up what colors and trims are actually being produced and shipped. With the exception of the green Design edition, the other 8 colors do not appear to be resticted to any one trim.

The searching on cars.com is a bit frustrating because the dealer info is often incorrect or mixed up. The only way to know for sure what a dealer has (or had, if sold) is to pull up the window sticker from the dealer website, if it is on there.

Yes, the infotainment in the Q50 is a bit dated but then again I’ve heard the same complaints about the G70. I’m coming from a Toyota FJ Cruiser so really any infotainment system is a step up from where I’m at.

The $56,000 was the Dynamic Edition including taxes and fees. It’s the out the door price. They told me my current vehicle doesn’t qualify for the $1000 and there’s another discount that I qualify for from just about every auto manufacturer including Hyundai but the Genesis dealer said they won’t honor it and I’m assuming it’s because they think the G70 is just hot sh*t right now. In reality it’s not, I don’t know one single person who knows what it is before I explain it to them.

The Genesis dealer is a few miles from the Infiniti dealer. I’m going to stop by and look at the G70 just to make sure but the price on the Infiniti is pretty hard to pass up.

I agree it’s not the best-in-class but for $11,000 off MSRP I think the value is there.

Hi guys, in the result of modest research I found out that G70 will come with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires that are good only for 30k miles. So I wonder how 36 month lease is going to work? any idea?

Check out the Redline review:

Quote: “Overall, as a luxury sedan, this is not quite there yet. As a sports sedan it has the ballsy engine, but it’s missing the entire chassis feel. The steering, it’s that direct adaptive steer, which it’s, I’m just not liking the way it feels. It doesn’t give me much confidence when I’m behind the road; it’s just kind of a strange video game like sensation, a disconnected feel, basically”

I don't think all of the trims are using those tires but that doesn't really matter. I would think you would have to buy new ones should they wear out prior to the end of the lease. For most leases there are minimum tire depth, if they are below that at lease end then you have to pay for new ones. I guess Genesis could have some type of tire coverage to pay for them, don't know about that.
