G70 US Availability?

Yes the G70 has really impressed me. I could easily live without the digital display, but I feel like they need to bring it over. What state are you in?

I also believe they should come out with it here in the States as an option. If the next gen G80 has the Digital Display so should the G70 for either 2020/2021. I’m currently in Florida and I’ve checked with my dealers and they are still unsure of when they will get it but I am on the list to be first called when they get inventory.

The biggest hurdle I think Genesis is going to have with this car is the rear legroom. Almost all other complaints can be fixed aftermarket but this one. They really should have extended the wheelbase 4-6 inches because the back seat is really not useable with 4 regular size adults in the car. It is extremely cramped.

Also I think if you are in the position to wait 6-12 months you will be seeing huge discounts across the Genesis brand. They have really dropped the ball across the US and Genesis YOY sales are terrible. It would not surprise me to see 10k discounts on 2019 G70’s this time next year just like what we are seeing with Stinger’s.

That's what the G80 is for. (For reference, G70 wheelbase is 111.6", G80 118.5", G90 124.4".) The G70 is (intentionally) a compact sedan, and the legroom is competitive for this segment. Here is a combined (front plus rear) legroom comparison pulled from an Alex on Autos youtube review.

That would be a disaster for Genesis IMO. They need features that make them stand out from the competition. Most if not all of the competitors in this range already have that option. 2 year wait for an option that frankly should have shipped day one or not long after is disappointing.

It’s clear the brand isn’t moving cars. Kia can’t move car either so they have to do something. I expect big discounts in the next 6 months.

holding out for the digital dash in this pics I've seen is completely mind bottling! IMO... compared to the other guys doing digital dash, the one in the pics looks like something straight off my son's nintendo switch. it's almost laughable and takes away from the elegance and luxury of a pretty sexy interior. give me something more modern. for now, the existing dials within the dash matches the look perfectly.

There are more than just that one that's been displayed. See the attached pics. There's one that looks almost just like the current gauges. Who knows what all changes you can make?Digital is just more flexible.

Not really two year I’m talking about the exterior refresh automakers do to there vehicles. The features your talking about could come next year. Remember Korea is ahead of us in technology and when a refresh vehicle is either spied or released. So 2021 could be the same design but 2022 could be our refresh.

From the looks of it, it only looks like you can change it during drive modes. Hopefully Custom let’s you choose which one you want.

Yeah not to mention the dash can be updated at any time with a firmware update. I would guess a US dash would have difffernt graphics from a KDM dash. That’s what makes the digital dash so great IMO.

So far videos of the digital dash just show what the pictures show of the different modes. There's nothing utilising navigation or animations during driving. But no one's driven with it yet so I can't say the digital dash can't do those things, so we will have to see.

On another note, interestingly Korea got the sport wheels we have.

Also, don't change the size of the car please. If you want something bigger, get a 5 series equivalent. I wouldn't want to ruin the drive dynamics of the G70 or make it heavier by making it bigger.

The Audi and VW one looks atrocious! They don't dim enough and the black levels are pretty bad.
The one on the Volvo XC40 wasn't very impressive either. And I can see them malfunctioning during cold winter months.
I would love to have a digital dash but only if they can do OLED or deeper blacks and proper dimness for night driving.

The dash currently has a brightness up and down button on the left side, so I'd think Genesis would carry that over to the digital dash.

That's not the issue. It is the fact that you can't get it dim enough for night driving. The lowest brightness is still very bright.

I believe the BMW Digital Dashboard isn’t that bad. I’ve seen pictures of it and it looks very good when it comes to brightness. It also has a navigation mad in the center as a feature you can put. Plus the map isn’t so bright like what Audi has in there Digital Dash.

Seems like things have slowed down. I think the States that are ready to sell have been revealed...and the dealers within those States that have their acts together are known.

So the number of cars went up like crazy initially...and according to cars.com and cargurus...it has come to a screeching halt. Cars are added here and there, etc. New dealer here and there.

My 2 dealers in Richmond, VA still do not have their Franchise Licenses...even thought I was told months ago that they were on it...it will be soon...blah blah. Who knows in what way they f**ked up to not have it done yet.

I completely understand where your coming from. My state hasn’t even given the okay for Genesis to have full fledge licence dealerships over here. I’m kinda suspecting mid November early December and possibly January the latest.
