  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

What's the price of insurance looking like for others (obviously it will vary but trying to get an idea)

Finally got a price from Progressive. They are charging around $700 every six months for a $250k/500k policy with a $100/250 deductible. They had a lot of trouble quoting the car and eventually just insured it for a "stated amount" as if it were an antique or something that could vary widely in value. But their original stated value was only $34k, so I had to call them and bump it up to closer to what the car is actually worth new.

After right-sizing the stated amount, that yielded the approximately $700 premium for six months. I say approximate because I was charged about $350 and I have 3 months and 6 days left in the policy term.

It's on me to keep an eye on the stated amount to make sure I'm not over-insuring the car for the first 6-12 months. The rep told me that eventually the actuarial tables will catch up and it'll covert over to how cars are normally quoted.

so based on that a 3.3T car that is MSRP at 50,000 will lease for 620 USD for 36 months!!!

Doesn't matter how good that car is but paying 620/month for a lease is beyond stupid. I think with all their issues they would be lucky to break even with Acura with respect to sales. They need some miracle to resuscitate this "Luxury" brand.

Or may be I am just frustrated with this whole delay and venting here. lol

Is that no money down? If so, that is a really great deal on a lease for a $50k car. All these deals you see on TV for $399 a month on lease deals are typically with $4999 due at signing. Hell, our local Audi dealer is offering $499 lease deals and you read the fine print and is states '$7899.00 due at signing'...well, I only do NO MONEY DOWN leases. I am not giving a dealer a chunk of change up front just for the lower monthly payment. That is what is stupid.

Ok folks...I'm not getting it. This is the US Availability thread. A few comments regarding posting topics in the appropriate thread.

Then...back to back posts...one on insurance and another on leasing. I'm no moderator...but...seriously?

Yes, given the current MF rates of other manufactures, they are offering pretty decent lease rates and the residuals aren't too bad either. My guess is that if the sales, or lack thereof, continue then we will see some leash cash offered also.

Yeah that’s what I also believe as well. Especially if dealerships aren’t seeing them moving on the lot then we would see some discount’s off the vehicles.

Wholeheartedly agree. Keep all the threads on topic.

Liberty genesis in NJ received a bunch of 3.3T advanced models including the one I want (white). They are offering 1000 off msrp on their page, although not sure if that's the conquest/loyalty incentive or separate. If not, that could be a decent deal...

Edit: 2 advanced and 2 elites incorrectly Labelled as advanced. I might contact them and do some digging

If you click on the link for details and incentive it shows it is the $1k conquest incentive.

You are right, guess I'll hold out for now then!

Doesn’t hurt to stop buy and offer less than MSRP. We should see the official numbers this week but it appears the G70s are not selling so they may want to move one. ;)

Considering these hot new cars aren't moving and the competition's (Alfas, C Class and Stingers) are all offering way better incentives, I don't think it will take long for those dealers with inventory to start discounting. If they don't, they'll not only be the few limited Genesis dealers, but they'll have full lots and plenty of cars for a long time.

I recall seeing one post about insurance.. which you answered.. then I answered... then you complained that I answered.

Pretty sure Pugi is telling the truth:
My wife’s Design is due in sometime between Thursday and next Monday after an original due date of Nov 5.
Hang in there!
Did you get your Design?! Pugi's website was showing it, but not anymore.

I'm a little worried about how long Genesis will last in the US. I know these numbers are bad because of the dealership issues, but the G80 sales numbers are abysmal. It will be hard to measure the G70 sales since it is barely available, but it doesn't sound like it's doing great for a brand new model. Is everything going to be just fine after the dealership issues are figured out?

Genesis needs SUVs.

thats a very valid point.. they might just shut down the whole Genesis thing. With the incompetency showed in rolling out a new car that supposed to set them ahead of the pack, I would not be so surprised if Genesis is scrapped

Well the G70 is hopefully going to give the brand some sport credibility for now (and sedans are very important in home market of S. Korea), but I'm sure they are banking on the real sales volume here when the SUV comes out.

I think they have a lot of money behind them so they can definitely survive. It is tough to look at the G80 sales and really get a gauge on things since they stopped shipping them very early this year and there was limited availability in many areas. Hopefully once the dealer fiasco is solved we will get a better idea of true demand for all models.

its baffling to think a car company with network of Hyundai is incapable of sorting its dealership issues for almost an entire year after announcing a brand new marquee product. I think if one can wait till next year this time 2019 G70s will be up for grabs for 20-30% discounts brand new.
