  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

During the 12-month period that I was leasing the Jaguar, I was paying 7% sales tax each month.

Thanks for checking on that. I guess the full 7% being charged for your lease would confirm what that link was saying, or not saying, as there is no limit for local sales taxes on leases.

My dad is 99% sure he saw a G70 today in the suburbs of Portland. Could be a manufacturer car, or someone bought it somewhere else and drove or shipped it back. Hopefully they'll actually be available here soon.

I still haven’t seen any pop up in Indiana. There has to be licensing issues or something. We have two Genesis dealerships within 20 miles of me my current “recommended” dealership from the Genesis site is in IL. Hopefully they get it figured out in the next couple of months, I really don’t want to drive that far just to test one out.

Tried to send you a PM but I must not be able to because I haven't actually been active on here. I've been a member for a few months and following some threads (so much drama - LOL) I just haven't commented yet.

Anyway, I'm in the same boat as you. Are you in the Indianapolis area? I had contacted Jim Smith at Terry Lee Genesis in Noblesville. He was pretty straightforward and said the delay, as we already know, is due to licensing and any information he could give at this point regarding an arrival date is just conjecture on his part. I am constantly checking web sites for inventory and have also been checking for active dealer licensing using this site: https://dealers.sos.in.gov/PublicDealerSearch/PublicSearch

Good luck! Hopefully we get something soon in Indiana!

So I have been to a Infiniti dealership and Infiniti is literally giving away their brand new Q50 3.0t 2018s. I was quoted 14k off of 50k MSRP car which brings down the price to 36k with out LKA feature. I am still holding on to g70 but my hold is losing every day and I am very much tempted to bite the bullet with q50. what are your all thoughts compared to q50 vs g70 2T? not the v6
My wife and I test drove a Q50 3.0T Sport because of said give away price. The car is a fantastic drive, absolutely everything else made me understand the discount. Drove a Stinger GT2 on same day. I'd say driving was 9/10 compared to Q50, but everything else (materials, equipment, space and storage) justified the price. Made me want to wait for the G70.

The Q50 is such a good looking car but the infotainment is unforgivable imo.

Interesting to find 2019 Genesis offers in California, even though we don't have any official standalone Genesis dealerships yet. 2019 Genesis G70 Incentives, Specials & Offers in San Jose CA

Same here...one of the local Hyundai dealerships is selling the Genesis. It is a dump of a dealership, inside and out. Just the sales floor and sales people's cubicles are like cheap office break rooms. It was odd to see in the midst of all of this, a G90 off to the side in the show room. I don't know if I would want to even take my Genesis there for service. This is another reluctance on my part to purchase.

Just as bad is the transmission (slow to shift); really defeats the purpose of getting the Q50 RS and the interior is really starting to look outdated (a horizontal dash layout is more sleek/modern).

IMO, I agree with Alex's comment that Genesis USA should have figured this out before totally blowing this launch. I live in VA where a few dealers have cars, and have seen the G70 and its a nice car. But there is no way I'd buy a G70 this early while the company is having serious business issues. Maybe by 2020 or 2021 they will have things worked out. Till then...I'm still searching.......

So they should have stopped selling cars? Obviously they made big mistakes, but not selling anything until they figured it out could have totally destroyed the brand. They may have had to skip the 2019 model year and would not have dealers that wanted to sell anything. Meantime, no one that bought a G70 in the US has suffered any loss from the problems.

And...this epic thread you started continues to grow! I think this is easily the largest one on the entire site.

Due to my excellent experience with Hyundai, I have cut Genesis a lot of slack. There’s no perfect car and I’ve really tried to find a sports / luxury sedan that I like better and I can’t. Objectively, an AMG or M3 would be a “better” car, but the G70 just feels right.
