  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

YES!!!~ Just bought a 2.0T with Dynamic Package on 11/26/18 at Earnhardt Genesis, Scottsdale, AZ. They are only dealer in Phx selling cars. EXCELLENT CAR!!!!!

Congratulations and good luck with it!

Looks like Genesis of Scottsdale and Genesis of North Phoenix will be getting some soon as well.

I don't know if it's just my location (outside of Boston), but I literally have 3 genesis dealers and all are within 15-45 mins from my house. So, I contacted each dealer and see who could get me the lowest price....also each of those 3 dealers had 4-7 G70's the last few weeks. The one where I got mine at started with 5 a month ago and is now down to 2 after I bought mine.

Well, it looks like these things are not exactly flying off the shelves. Three sales in a month won't keep the doors open long. This is a surprise to most of us here on this forum, but it must not be to people in the auto business.

I'm thinking people on a Genesis G70 waiting thread would not be the most unbiased place to find an opinion on how well the G70 will sell. I figured it wouldn't sell well due to the lack of branding. People who are about to spend 50 thousand dollars on a car probably aren't so interested in buying something that nobody has heard of. They want to impress their friends. If you say you got a BMW, Audi, Tesla, Jag, people will be impressed. If you tell your friends you got a Genesis, they won't even know what it is.

Many of us here have been commenting on how they are not selling well and probably will not for quite awhile. The COTY award may help a little but then again the average consumer doesn't know or care about that. The November sales should be out in a few hours so we will see how it went with the greater availability in November. They surprisingly sold 51 units in October but best we can determine, most of those were fleet sales and not to the general consumer.

It outsold the G90 and the G80 numbers seem suspect to me so maybe that also. Then again we had more dealers/states opening up so this could be initial pent-up demand.

November Sales

G70
Oct Sales = 51
Nov Sales = 128
Increase in sales, month over month =250.98%

Wouldn't you say the increase was 150%? The actual unit increase was 77. 77 would 150.98% of 51 - 77/51 = 1.5098.

If the numbers were 100 and 150, we would say there was a 50% increase in sales - 50/100.

I stand corrected. :thankyouspin:

I'm thinking I need a plaque for my dashboard -- "1 of 99."

Well if it wasn't well known, the G80 and the G90 wouldn't be at #4 for sales within their class!
In the end of the day you can be a sheep and drive what everyone else does and be in a circle jerk, or spend your money wisely and buy the best vehicle out there for the money!
No need to make light of things you know nothing about!

December 4th and still no G70 in Florida, Texas or California, the big Genesis markets. One year ago those three states were able to sell in a month more cars than the total Genesis USA car sales in November/2018. The waiting continues.

Still waiting in Maryland and Delaware for dealers

I pinged Walter Dawson about these 3 States...see if he replies. Now that I have my car...he may never reply to me again...LOL.

TurtleBoy posted info I shared with him a while ago regarding these 3 States.

Florida - legal issues resolved...should have been moving forward already
Cali - legal issues were very close to being done
Texas - done...but they are approaching differently. Waiting on all dealers to be ready and all will go live at once

Stay tuned.

Thanks @Beefer I'm in Florida and not in a hurry (my lease maturity is in April) but not having the car in stock right now could hurt the price in next months. The longer it takes the worst will be.

I live in Orlando. I will note I have been seeing a lot more commercials for the G70 during the local morning news. To me that says they should be arriving in FL soon.

Good to know, here in Miami I have not seen any commercial and much less any car in person.
