  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

What website? When I go to the Genesis website and select find a dealer and enter my central Florida zip code, the only dealers that show up are in Georgia. Is there another website?

Strange. It must be something stuck in cache on my browser. Everytime I try to load the page on my main browser it only shows Genesis of Brunswick and Genesis of Savannah. I just tried on a different browser that I don't use a lot and it showed me what you guys are seeing.

For fellow Oregonians:

My dad told me today that when he got his G80 Sport serviced at Beaverton Genesis this week, they told him that they are no longer able to be a Genesis dealer, as they don’t have the land required to build a standalone Genesis store. Still able to service the cars, but won’t be able to sell them. According to them, Genesis of Bend will remain the only Oregon dealer, at least for now. Take that all with a grain of salt, obviously, as we all know how often dealers don’t know what they’re talking about, but still.

Isn’t the genesis dealer in Vancouver just a few files from Beaverton?

Yeah, Vancouver Genesis is gonna be the closest dealership for those of us in the greater Portland metro area. Beaverton Hyundai essentially told me the same thing - that there will only be one Genesis dealership in all of Oregon. Don't know if there's any truth to that, but the other Hyundai dealerships I've contacted here in Portland are absolutely clueless, so they may not be wrong.

Genesis of Bend supposedly is going to receive their first shipment of G70's any day now. I have yet to hear back from Vancouver.

That is just dumb as f$%k to go 30-35 years comparing launches of vehicles. LMFAO

By time this Genesis G70 gets into all dealers, we are likely to be in 2nd quarter 2019. That's almost a year from what was supposed to be the original launch date. To me, this points to larger corporate issues, and based on the increasing noise about the Hyundai/Kia engine fires, and the manufacturer's response (or lack thereof) to that, and the delayed response to meet the needs of the SUV/Crossover buying public, I am leery of buying anything created by this company. This is too bad because they made such great strides in building a primo reputation and they have managed to sully it themselves. I wish you all the very best, but I am moving on to consider other manufacturers.

As I posted a couple of weeks ago, the estimate from Erwin Raphael is end of 1st quarter 2019.

According to the video below, Erwin Raphael, the Executive Director and General Manager for Genesis Motor America, said this at the LA Auto Show:

“We are licensed in every state and Washington, D.C. We’re going through the process of appointing our first dealers. We currently have 78 dealers in 19 states and we’re getting more every day. It’ll probably be by the end of Q1 before we plateau at somewhere in the mid-300 dealers...”

Yes, Vancouver isn’t far from Beaverton, but it just seems dumb to me to have the large majority of Oregon’s population have to go to another state to buy a car, regardless of how far away it is. Hopefully it’s rectified at some point in the future.

Todd,
Have you checked to see if the Vancouver dealer will give Portland area cars the concierge pick-up, delivery service after purchase?

Have not. I'm still waiting for an email back from them... I may end up calling, but I'm hesitant to give away my phone number this early. Hah.

Still no dealers less than 2 hours away from me, but Genesis claims end of first quarter Plateau and that's when I am ready to purchase. Fingers crossed.

Nice. Totally forgot about *67. I'll give em a call after Christmas if I haven't heard back by then.

We're like a month away in Pennsylvania, one of the last states onboard. What is the build date of cars coming through now? Are they newer than the initial batch?
