  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

I live in Salt Lake City, utah ... Just spoke with Ken Garff Genesis / Hyundai sales rep and he was confident they would have a G70 unit to test drive at the end of January or early February.

Palm Springs Genesis has a 2.0T 45k MSRP listed on Autotrader with no info, might be a inbound unit. That's a good sign I guess.

Nice! There’s hope! Honestly, as ignorant as it sounds, I was trying to figure out what’s involved with buying out of state and bringing it back to Cali for registration.

Shipments to Florida have started. So far I'm seeing inventory for Genesis of St. Augustine, Key Genesis and Red Hoagland Genesis.

Edit: and Wesley Chapel
Any news on Delaware? No one cares about little old Delaware lol

No, the only state right now that should be getting inventory soon is Oregon. Other than that, no others are on the radar but now that they have gotten Florida out of the way (my guess is all dealers will have cars within a week) hopefully other states start showing up.

Besides posting the dealers with inventory I post a state watchlist. Those are ones with approved dealers that should be getting inventory shortly.

Ohio...You're killing me!

After how many miles on a demo vehicle should a buyer see a discount? I am looking at a AWD Sport with 1500 miles on it. Also, I have been to 3 different dealerships and having purchased multiple cars in the past, Genesis/Hyundai is missing the "luxury" car buying experience.

That’s the big fight Genesis has been in. Even now, after supposedly agreeing to move to becoming full separate Genesis dealers, if you go on cars.com and look at all 338 G70s listed you will only find ONE (1)!! dealer listed there as a Genesis dealer: Genesis of Atlanta.

No offense to buyers of these other brands, or these dealers, who may have excellent service, but do I want to buy and have my $50K Genesis serviced by a Mazda or Chevrolet dealer?

Valid point about the experience but that is just the way the dealers are named on cars.com and not anything to do with the facilities. At this point all Genesis dealers are in another dealership. Below is a screenshot of the Genesis of Atlanta web page, it shows they are located at Jim Ellis Hyundai.

Speaking of B1G football, we can add the Cornhusker state to the watchlist. Looks like Genesis of Southwest Omaha is on the board.

It is on the Palm Springs Hyundai website, but the window sticker is for Earnhardt Genesis North Scottsdale. Appears to be the only G70 in the entire state of California. Window sticker is from Arizona. Maybe the same dealer ownership?17E4F431-1E58-4247-B8EA-8CF33B55611D.webp

Or dealer traded like the dealership in FL?

Or dealer traded like the dealership in FL?

It could be that but in the case in Florida the dealer was licensed and ready to go. In California they are not allowed to sell the 2019s yet.

According to the video below, Erwin Raphael, the Executive Director and General Manager for Genesis Motor America, said this at the LA Auto Show, at about 1:11 in the video:

“We are licensed in every state and Washington, D.C. We’re going through the process of appointing our first dealers. We currently have 78 dealers in 19 states and we’re getting more every day. It’ll probably be by the end of Q1 before we plateau at somewhere in the mid-300 dealers...”

That is different than the dealers being licensed. After Genesis receives a state manufacture's license then they can franchise dealerships. The dealerships apply to Genesis and then apply to the state to receive a dealer license. At this point in time there are no dealers approved/licensed/franchised in California. Hopefully that changes soon.

The car has now been removed from their website inventory.

Thanks for the info.

Oddly, Palm Springs Hyundai still shows the car.

I contacted them and they told me: “...the 2019 Genesis that you saw on our website is the only one that we currently have available. We do have the ability to either regionally locate or order exactly what you're looking for...”

Well, as Beefer says, “stay tuned.”
