If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Just got a new 2012 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 and have put on the little wings on the front, rear and steering wheel.
Here is my question - am considering during the center wheel caps as well and have found different emblems. One is a simple stick-on similar to the one on the wheel and the others are actual caps that you have to install by pulling out the present caps. I am thinking that the stick-ons "could" become loose and fall off - I would like some input and suggestions.
Thanks..

I would go with the real ones that require removal of the old ones. Just ask your tire dealer to swap them next time you rotate (or replace) your tires. Although I never rotated tires on my previous cars, I would highly recommend you do so on the Genesis.

Just get some electrical tape and tape around the wheel center to protect the clear coat on the rims the use the thinnest flathead screw driver you can find. Also if you don't care to keep the original, my buddy did his by driving a small screw right into the center of each cap and popped it out then just popped in the new ones. He figured if he needed to go back he would just buy the OEM flying H.

I have a 2011 3.8. I bought the center caps with the prongs thinking it would be an easy swap out. I ended up having to pry the metal caps off and applying them to my existing caps with some 3M tape. Prying off the caps was a little tricky at first (almost like shucking oysters) but I got the hang of it by the 3rd one.

They really did make it super easy with the 2012. No pain process. No heating or 3M tape required.

I bought bought OEM centers off Ebay for a little over $30 (less than $7.50 apiece). If you remove the wheel, the old ones pop out easily with a little tap from behind. Guaranteed, no damage to the wheel or the old center.

Just bought a 2012 Genesis 3.8 Sedan with Premium Package and am new to the board. Vehicle has 18" hyper alloy wheels.
I purchased a set of 2-1/4" diameter wing wheel inserts thinking they were easily interchangeable. But after pulling the larger (6" diameter) cover that conceals the lug nuts, it almost appears as though the flying H emblem is part of the larger cover, and not removeable.
Do I have the correct wheel cap, or do I need to buy the larger one that covers the lug nuts?
If they are the correct ones, any advice for getting the existing smaller cap out without damaging the cover would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I recently exchanged the center caps off my R-Spec, which took me approximately 10 minutes total. I purchased some fasteners (3m sticky tape seen on YouTube) from a local Kmart, cut approximately 2 inches creating a V like pattern by sticking both end on the center cap and leaving enough room to pull with vise grips and voila. No damage was done to the original caps or the rims. Work very good!

Well - I purchased the small center wings for my 2012 Genesis but lo and behold - my center cap does not pull out as most everyone suggests. I tried the tape but after someone removed the entire center (mine is like a waffle) I realized the entire piece has to be replaced because the small round wing is permanently affixed. So, I luckily returned the center wings and have purchased the waffle type on eBay. Haven't received them yet but after sending a picture to the seller, he says these will work. The center waffle piece has a small insert around the edge where you can gently release it.

OK, I am a little slow and as such I am confused. I have a 2012 Sedan 3.8 with 18" wheels. Would like to replace "center" cap, not the entire lug nut cover. What do I need to order and what is the replacement process. Thanks in advance for your assistance!:)

You can't remove the small piece in the center with the H - you have to purchase the entire circular waffle piece - it's a bit over 6" ..

You can, I did, it takes using heat to soften the glue and the swap can be made from the 17/19 cap to the 18 using the just the metal shell. It just does not save much money now vs. two years ago when the waffle 18" center cap set cost about 250.00.
