If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have the 2015 with the upgraded seats (that has the extender / softer leather).

I have found that the driver seat (not the passenger) causes some pain under my shoulder blade. After 3k miles I figured it out. The Driver Side has the inflatable side bolsters. It seems like there is either an arm or some kind of support across the back of the seat and is basically a small LUMP that presses under my shoulder blade I cannot feel that on the passenger side because there are no inflatable side bolsters.

Adjusting the side bolsters or lumbar causes no change in that lump in the seat.

Just wondering if anyone else experienced any comfort issues with the upgraded seats.

Have not had any issues - very comfortable.

No issues here. Did you know the Lumbar support not only adjusts in and out, but also up an down? Refer to the manual at section 2-10. This might be your problem.

No issues here, in fact these are the most comfortable seats out of any car I've driven. Typically after 2 hours in the driver seat, my back would start bothering me. I've gone on two, 3.5 hour trips with no issues.

Excellent seats..... no problems
Even my wife loves the passenger seat
The Genesis is a great touring car

Excellent seats even for 18-20 hour drives between FL and NY. And the seats remain comfortable so I don't even need to change the settings periodically, except for an occasional lumbar support tweak.

How does the gen2 seats compare to the gen1?

29,000 kms so far and numerous long drives with zero seating issues. Love the various levels of adjustment plus the heated/cooled ability.

After reading the replies I gave some more thought to my discomfort while driving.

Before the Genesis I owned a 2013 Pathfinder (turned in under Michigan Lemon Law) that SUV was like sitting on a recliner. Super comfortable seats. Before that SUV I drove an 2007 Azera, and before that a 2000 Chrysler LHS. These were all brands with more old-fart luxury seats vs. sport luxury seats.

I went online to look at best seat positions for cars. I followed those instructions and adjusted the Gen seats. I drove for an hour without the discomfort. I think my comfort issue is resolved with consideration to the type of seats are in the Genesis, (Sport Luxry vs. Old-Fart Luxury), and adjusting the seats with that in mind.

I think with so many seat adjustment features (side bolsters, leg extender, lumbar up and down) makes for so many options it takes time to get it right.

I think that sometimes, the more adjustable a seat is, the more chances you have to dial in a problem. The most adjustable seats I've had in a car were on my '06 BMW 5er. Even the upper portion of the seat back would articulate. The more you played with each adjustable feature though, the further you could get the seat "out of whack." Some of my most painful trips were in those seats. I'd have to start from scratch by readjusting the seats to a more neutral setting. I'd begin by getting the seat bottom level, putting the seat back upright, deflating the bolsters, and finally tucking the lumbar back in. Then with some slight adjustments to this neutral setup I could get the seat comfortable again.

The seats on my 2012 Mustang have barely the basic adjustments and a 2 way lumbar support. Those seats are always comfortable, even on long trips.

On my two test drives in the Genesis with ultimate packages, even though the longest drive was just a little over an hour, I could tell that these seats are sublimely comfortable.

I just finished a 6200-mile 16-day trip in my Genesis with two drivers splitting time (although I did 60-70% of the driving because I just like driving her). I love the seats, and I love the fact that with so many settings I can change them occasionally as I drive.

Well after all the adjusting I have to say I go back and forth on these seats. I drive for 1/2 hour, great, longer my back hurts. I feel like my weight is more on my back than but and I have the seat bottom basically flat. I have found seats that do not tilt front/back like the Genesis I have had issues with it. It is probably the way my back arches and why I favor softer seats. I think for me personally too is the location of the seams on the seat and the back. They are stiff and cause some discomfort. I am going to look for some type of thin cushion support I can use on the seat.

Seats are super duper in my experience, perhaps yours is defective?
