  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Picking up my Genesis tomorrow. I HATE brake dust.
Does the Genesis generate brake dust and if so, any recommendations to minimize it till I replace the pads?
I usually coat the wheels with Liquid Glass which repels the dust and makes them really shiny!
Big thanks to all for your great input. As always, please have a Great Day!

All cars generate brake dust. Different types of brake pads have various levels of brake dust wear.

My Genesis generate very little brake dust. In comparision my Audi A6 generate 4 times more brake dust.

I have actually noticed the exact opposite. I am surprised at how little brake dust there is. The wheels are very easy to clean and what little brake dust there is takes no effort to remove with some soap and water.

...and if soap and water doesn't quite cut it, I've had really good luck with Windex on other cars (no dust problems on the Genesis yet).

No problems with dust yet. My GF has a 2006 Sonata and like the Genesis, they both have ceramic pads which help reduce brake dust.
