I'd prefer to stay anonymous due to my position and opinions posted on a public forum. What I can say is that everyone is in the same boat. Any dealer group has to have a real hard on for the brand to consider spending the money. That or a twisted arm. Front end profit on EVs isn't there and warranty money in service is slim too. Not sure how the numbers are going to make sense.

Put NJ Brunswick on this list they are fabricating a huge building alone with Cherry Hill in NJ. I'm surprised Genesis hasn't had one commissioned in NYC, but they do have the genesis building.

Yes, that’s what I have been told too. My closet combined Hyundai dealership has to have their stand alone dealership up and running by 2024. The dealership I just bought my G80 from 95 miles away just opened their stand alone Genesis store last week. 1-2-23.

Tau, I still have not gotten over to Fort Myers to see if that Genesis dealer there is sharing their service bays with a different dealer, but I read in another forum somewhere that another freestanding dealership has or is about to open somewhere else in Florida. I will look into that as well when I can.

I just checked on the Ft Myers FL dealership and the standalone dealership will not be open until the middle of next year. (I assume he ment 2024)
I told him they have been advertising since September of last year and he said the building under construction was damaged in the Hurricane (Ian) and they have to start from scratch again. So that one looks like a pipe dream.

All new Genesis standalone dealerships will have to adhere to the corporate design/look, but in the case of Genesis of Westlake which had moved into an existing structure, pretty suffice to say that it's pretty nice as the other brands on the same compound are ultra-lux (Bentley, Lamborghini, etc.).

As an aside, the newer Hyundai dealerships are pretty upscale as well.

According to a recent Autonews article, there are 75 Genesis dealerships in various stages of development.

Unclear if all of them are standalone as Genesis stakeholders have asked for flexibility; not clear if that means smaller volume dealers can just build a separate Genesis building (but share the lot/service bays) or if that is in regards to timing.

Anyhow, not counting projects still on the drawing board - that would mean 77 new Genesis dealerships/structures and counting O'Gara and the Hudson Yards showroom, 79 new and/or separate point of sale facilities for Genesis.

Back in November, Genesis of Amherst (Buffalo, Ny area) was seeking approval for the new standalone Genesis location.
