If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Genesis Coupe Buying/Leasing Tips (Read before you sit with your dealer!)

rich guys wont squawk about cars that are equal to in amenities and performance for thousands less even at sticker price than the competition, there a bit more educated than that.

The rich guys are welcome to blow their cash, the sane ones of us that make real incomes will make educated purchases.

I don't know about you Priority but I have much better uses for $121 dollars a month or $3,630 over 3 years.

Why should I or any person who cares about their hard earned cash pay an extra $3,630 for this car?

Stop encouraging people to be stupid...

i hope you arent saying the difference between a 2.16 rate and a 5.40 is 100$ a month, lol.????

V8 sedan w/ Tech - $42,000 @ 2.16% for 60 mos. = $739.11/mo. @ 5.40% = $800.31/mo.
3.8 Track Coupe - $30,250 @ 2.16% for 60 mos. = $532.33/mo. @ 5.40% = $576.41/mo.

Not $100, but still a good chunk of change.

Rich guys tend not to worry about a grand here or there when buying something they want (rather than need). However, most rich guys weren't always rich. How do you think they got there?

yeah, but there are some reverse stigma going on in this recession economy.

let's say you're a CEO (people hate CEO's these days) whose BMW 7 series lease is finishing.

Do you want to lease another 7 series or Mercedece while you are laying-off people and cutting salaries of your employee ?

Or do you consider Hyundai Genesis sedan to show that you're sharing the pain ?

Hey, JonnyK.

Talking about educated purchase, do you happened to have April money factor and residual ?

Thanks,
Monb

No I don't sorry, I was really hoping someone would pick up where I left off.

To be honest, I walked into a dealership, sat down and started talking to a salesman about the coupe, and asked to see the current programs from Hyundai, and he handed me those sheets.

I don't think that the term "rich" applies to the typical Hyundai clientele.
The cars are bargains to start with, rich guys buy 370Z and up.

Its a new car, rare, you want one, you might have to pay for it. If you don't want to, then don't buy it. BTW, the local dealer also sold the first GT-R in Michigan at 103k. Why? Because he could.

I'm getting the 3.8 Grand Touring automatic for $26,500.

It's almost like I'm stealing it!

Not 100?

Let's do some math...

MSRP: 42000
Cap Cost: 37600
Residual, 47% - 36 month lease, my sales tax is 5.6, as an example
MF: .0009 (2.16) vs .00225 (5.40%)

5.6 rate: 570.66 monthly
2.16 rate: 652.05 monthly

or, if you want to pay exactly sticker, after everything..

5.6 rate: 799.66
2.16 rate: 711.64

It's fair to say that's an extra bill in your pocket a month between the two rates. Don't you work as a salesman?

BTW - It's not only about cars, the point was if you save a drop or a bucket on everything you buy, you'll save money in the long run. If the Genesis was 60k, would you still go after it?

In regards to Aprils rates, I have been told its the same - 2.16 for 700+ FICO, or 5.6 for subprime, 47% for the 8, 49% for the 6, on 12k/y, respectively.

honda accords 2000 below invoice, get real.

Well, that's the norm for "2009" Honda Accord right now. There's actually $1000 cash back from Honda (for the month of March). So it's actually $1000 under invoice.

Are you sure about that ? It sounds like the rate for Genesis Sedan.

For genesis coupe, 4.08 for tier 1&2 FICO, 57-58% residual was March.

Yes, sorry - the rates are for the Sedan - I am not too sure about the coupe.

Not if you buy it... see my numbers. ^^^

Don't understand all of these people leasing anyways. Unless you can deduct it as a business expense, makes no sense at all to me. Of course the idea of only driving 12K a year also boggles my mind (I do at least double that).

Car that Employer pays for (Lease) > Car that I pay for (Buy)

It does make sense sometimes, especially when you get $1000 off a lease from Hyundai.

Car that Employer pays for (Lease) > Car that I pay for (Buy)

In that case, you're not really leasing it, your employer is... even if it's in your name.

Not exactly, I leased because the amount he is paying me covers the cost of the lease, it wouldn't cover a purchace. At the end of the lease, if I buy it, then the payments would be low enough. I am using leasing as a way for me to get this car and never pay for it =D

Sounds familiar,
lease to see if you like it and then decide to buy or replace it. Did that with my wife's Santa Fe already. Same with the Coupe, 15mls for 3 years , I should know by then if I like it or not. With the car allowance I can pick whatever I want, lots better than a company car.

lmao, how am i encouraging people to be stupid??? please explain, im not here telling people pay 5000 over sticker or even sticker or even a dollar over, im just saying you guys get on here and whine all the time about the pricing this and that as if the pricing is ridicoulous sometimes and even at sticker. ok, a dealer overcharges..i can feel you on that but the way yall act..sometimes it seems if theres more discussion on ways to steal the car than it is to buy it. if i had preconcieved notions about hyundai and then got on here and seen numerous threads on ways to buy 2000 under invoice on a car that just came out...i'd think damn, there must be a reason why they dont feel its worth anything. instead of you telling me to stop encouraging people to be stupid, why dont you encourage people that are not familiar with hyundai that the product is worth every penny, thats what this board was about regardless of what you paid.

I saw StarkyLuv's price ($26,500 for an auto 3.8 Grand Touring). Sounds like a great deal!

I'm starting to regret being in a small market... I paid sticker. Now that the dealers are starting to get Coupes, it looks like prices are starting to drop. Sucks for me, I guess.
