  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I wonder what type of measurement they use to determine that.

The Autoguide list is simply CR's. So based on the problems per car reported through CR's survey. "Least reliable" isn't necessarily the same as unreliable. Most owners probably reported no problems at all.

No Idea....kind of surprised me though

Same:(

That actually makes more sense. And also, coupe owners are more likely into a much larger variety of upgrades which 'technically' could contribute to a higher rate of issues.

Looking to get a new used car in the next month or so and I'm very tempted by a 2013 3.8 GT with an automatic transmission. The price is right, <30K miles, and the car looks great on paper, but I also read CR's thumbs-down on reliability. I am a one-car owner, so how screwed would I be if this was my daily driver? I'm not a really aggressive driver, don't go to the track, etc. I'd just be using it as my daily car in Atlanta traffic, with the occasional weekend drive around some twisty mountain roads. I'd appreciate some advice! I don't want to end up stranded with a busted transmission...

What led you to think the transmissions are weak? These cars look good in our stats.

We've updated our reliability stats for the Genesis Coupe to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources.

In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2013 Genesis Coupe: 29, low
2011 Genesis Coupe: 20, low, small sample size
2010 Genesis Coupe: 29, low

No stat, or a small sample size? Then we especially need more owners involved for that model year.
