  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Dealers with plans for a separate building

I don't see how an independent dealer can financially justify building a free standing dealership based on their current( and declining) Genesis sales volume
A luxury car dealership typically has to be in the better( more expensive land) areas of town...the dealership itself has to have table stakes amenities that luxury buyers expect

I see them being "connected" to the Hyundai dealership for a long time to come
That's the only was an independent business can cover their overhead
And then its chicken or egg scenario I guess
Lexus seemed to have the right formula...but I don't know if that same scenario could be repeated today as they saw an underserved market and snagged it by the horns

In my hood the Hyundai dealer is almost directly across the street from the Lexus dealer and the Volvo-GMC dealer.

I do agree, though, that Genesis needs to hang close to the Hyundai dealerships. Many Genesis owners have stepped up from a Hyundai while waiting for their cars to be serviced. Further, Hyundai is making some great vehicles these days. There’s no shame in servicing both brands in the same shop, given the proper management.

Except I dont luxury cars buyers, in the United States, want to buy cars at a typical Hyundai dealership

I think Lexus ( Toyota) understood that and knocked it out of the park with their dealership and service experience

Except that that was yesterday. This is today. Aaaaand, the Genesis concept of stand-alone dealerships has bombed thus far.
