  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Free NACS Adapter Thread: Post Your Updates

Speaking for myself, it’s not the cost, it’s the principle of the matter. Genesis has advertised to owners that adapters will be available, sends a notice of when owners can request an adapter, and then fails to communicate when they don’t meet their self-imposed timelines. When one purchases a luxury vehicle, they expect a level of communication and service commensurate with the cost. This is just another instance of Genesis failing to live up to the level of service of legacy luxury brands.

That being said, I was already leaning towards a third party adapter, so this delay just spurred me to purchase what I wanted instead of waiting for Genesis to get their act together.
Completely agree!
As much as buying the adapter won’t be a burden, it’s money I’d much rather spend on things other than an adapter that should otherwise be provided to me for free

I emailed Genesis Customer Care about the adapters and this is the email response I received today...

"Thank you for contacting Genesis Customer Care regarding the North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter offer. We have been sending out emails in batches and will continue to do so through May 30th, 2025."

I'm not sure who they have sent the current batches of emails to as I don't believe anyone on this forum received the email. The wait continues.

Thanks for that update. At least we know now that they have a cutoff for when they are going to send out emails. The whole batches thing is total BS and just gives them the flexibility to kick the can down the road since it is nearly impossible to pinpoint who might have gotten an email.

We aren't talking about a ton of owners here across GV60 either. Maybe 10K of us total?

I also agree with you but remember, the 3rd party adapter puts you in peril in terms of warranty coverage. Any issues that arise from the use of that adapter, and trust me when I say Genesis will find a way to blame you using that adapter for any issue in the future, will not be covered under warranty.

I agree it is total BS. Opening the network when they haven't sent a single adapter is meaningless, except it gives them great press for doing nothing.

The odd thing is that I am now getting as many as 2 emails per day from Genesis. It is like they are taunting me. I don't really need marketing emails. These emails won't make me want to replace my car sooner, nor do they give me hope that my dealer support will improve.

I have my GV60 in for its 25,000 mile service today, and they said a recall (he probably meant service campaign) was just issued for the car today that provides the new NACS adapter. However, it is on backorder, so they will give it to me when it is in stock.

Very interesting. This isn't at all how the campaign is supposed to go. What model year GV60 do you have? Thanks for posting your update.

2023 model. When I sent my email to Customer Care, I had to include my Vin#

I’m guessing that you may not be trying a V3 (250KW) or V4 (325KW) Supercharger

In the Tesla app, you have to filter to Superchargers that are compatible with your car, which then wouldn’t show V1 (72KW) or V2 (150KW) stations.

You also have to be certain to follow the start charge instructions in the app.
Hi there - kinda new to all of this, first EV (GV60 Performance). Which Tesla app are you talking about - there are a couple in the Android Play Store. Is it the one written by Tesla?

So I went back and looked at the announcement. If you read the "fine print" they hedge their bets by using qualifiers like "begin" and "starting" so I take that to mean these emails could come whenever Genesis feels like it after April 7th.

"Genesis today announced that current U.S. EV owners who have purchased their vehicle on or before January 31, 2025 will begin receiving emails inviting them to redeem their complimentary North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapters starting the week of April 7."
Any idea if this will apply to people who purchased AFTER January 31 2025?

Hi - do you have the model number of the A27 you're using - just poking around on their website. Thanks

There’s only one official Tesla app - with the Tesla logo, yes, on the Apple and Android app stores.

I caved and ordered 1 myself which was delivered today. I'll try to test it out either tomorrow or Saturday.
Nice. The closest SuperCharger to me is 20 miles so probably won’t get a chance to test it out for a while.

I've just sent an email to Genesis Canada, asking what they are doing regarding adapters. I'll let folks know when I've received a response.

Just got off the phone with Genesis USA Customer Service. Their current statement is that owners of vehicles purchased AFTER Jan 31, 2025 will have to PURCHASE the NACS adapter from a dealership, and that the plan is to make all future cars NACS compatible. I asked if this policy was set-up due to limited supply, aka deal with older owners first, then see about round two, but 'Lily's' response was "the current plan is to get adapters into the hands of dealers by the end of April to be SOLD."
So that wasn't the gourmet response I was looking for, lol

I also got tired of waiting for Genesis. Just ordered the Adapter from A2Z for $153.00 (US).

Currently testing out my new A2Z adapter. Charging at a Tesla SC is so much easier than EA. It just works! I do have to say, though, I’m a little disappointed in the speed I’m getting. I’m at 65% SOC and only getting 44kw. Outside temp is about 65F. Is this normal?

Edit: After about 15 minutes, it jumped up to 97kw and holding steady 👍

Battery was likely too cold initially.

And yes, Superchargers are often so much easier to use than EA!

The super frustrating part of all of this is that in this forum we have a cross-section of owners who purchased their GV60's at various times throughout the model years to date (2023-2025). Given that, someone in the forum should have received an email by now.

My sense is that they have delayed sending out emails because they likely haven't secured enough production for the adapters or the insanely stupid tariffs will significantly impact cost. I hope I'm wrong, but it seems very unlikely 2 weeks out and we haven't had a single hit yet.
